Silversmith sat awake, sweating. He clutched his busted flashlight and looked left and right, forward and back. He struggled to see, but the moonlight aided him. Oh, the glorious moonlight! It revealed all. He was still successful. He took comfort in it. He could almost fall asleep... A passing cloud ruined Silversmith's sight. The panic returned: he couldn't see. Armando's small flame flickered, and Silversmith whispered.Silversmith: "Hey. Could you, like, float around the room searchlight style?
Armando: <Are you kidding me? Get over it and go to sleep!>
He could not comply. His hands went clammy. Anything could be lurking in the darkness. His various pains were nothing compared to the horrors that could await him. He sat for hours, watching, waiting, praying. ...
He was back at the Castelia cone stand.
Dream!Danny: <I'm just a goofy weremon who's afraid of ice cream.>
Dream!Silversmith: "... RUN, DAMN-"
But his legs wouldn't move. He was glued to the spot.
Dream!Danny: <Yea, you're not getting away so easily this time.>

Day turned to night in a flash.

The moons rays began fluctuating rapidly, causing the dream apparition to shift back and forth between human and mon form as it laughed maniacally. His legs seemed to be freed, and he ran, though his efforts were interrupted when he tripped on a conveniently placed banana peel, falling on his face. His pokemon approached him.
Dream!Silversmith: "Save me!"
Dream!Cortez: <No. You need to face your fears!>
Dream!Silversmith: "NO! IT'S WORSE THAN DEATH!"
Dream!Armando: <Might wanna look behind you.>
The dream shifted once more. He was back in bed, but he was glued to the spot once more. The illusion monster that had plagued him was back, but this time, it turned into a human, carrying a scythe, whenever the rapidly changing moon beams dissipated.
Dream!Monster: "Who are you?"
Dream!Silversmith: "...I am Jackson Silversmith, son of—"
Dream!Monster: <Hold it. Jackson is a human, no?>
Dream!Silversmith: <Well, yea.>
The monster laughed as Silversmith shrieked in terror. He finally awoke with a start. Everybody else was already awake, the sun's beams lighting the hotel room.
Silversmith: "SHIT!"
Cortez: "What's wrong!?"
Silversmith breathed heavily and took in his surroundings. Armando was making coffee, a pastime he had taken up out of necessity. His father looked at him, concerned. Aqua was perched next to him on his bed, causing him to recoil. She took no notice, instead stalking Cortez's motion, the familiar halve closed eyes look on her face. As the adrenaline from the dream wore off, Silversmith himself realized he had gotten no sleep, and his own eyelids took a droop similar to the average mareanie.
Silversmith: "Nothings wrong. Sorry."
He dragged himself out of bed and realized he forgot to change into his pajamas the night before. No matter.
Silversmith: "Might I have some of *yawn* of that coffee?"
Armando: <I thought you didn't like coffee.>
Silversmith: "I do today."
Silversmith got a cup and pondered his dream, while nearly falling asleep.
Cortez: <So what are we gonna do today?>
Silversmith: "Buy a new flashlight."
Cortez: <...Seriously though.>
Silversmith: "Shadow, any *yawn* ideas?"
Fox kicks in the head of one of the Soldier Zombies, "Gotta thank Jackal for fireproofing this suit."
Brigit tosses another rock attack at some more, <They ain't bright are they?>
"Zombies rarely are," Fox commented getting another family to run out.
The Electrive Trio are easily taken out, Vulpecula getting a thumbs up from Fox, "Nice work."
<You know Muggy and I aren't enough to face off against all of these things!>
"Jackal has a plan."
Brigit mumbled a bit and had to admit, <That's because he's weird like that.>
Fox laughed, "Still. We're not doing terrible here. The only advantage these things have are numbers."
<Are we not horrified by how many were made?>
"Immortality be damned really. That ooze stuff clearly isn't good for anyone's health."
Spotlights shone over the town, Fox looked up and saw Helicopters and airships, she grinned under her mask, "Seems the authority call got out. We got backup."
Interpol agents disembarked and soon started assisting people onto the airships, others had their mons assist in cleanup.
"We may do this."
The Pen looked at the other area, and watched it burst open as the undead came crawling out... and falling into the pit below.
-Huh, that's convenient. So, everyone got a way across? Cause your ink steps are a bit cheaty,- It said with the trademark grin, -As for divine weaponry, I'm a part of something that's not supposed to be here. Can't really help there, but I can make stuff that vaporizes other stuff.-
The team would have to get across the gap but it seemed dealing with the zombies wouldn't be too hard for now.
The wind blows over the incoming wave of the undead and knocks them over, they cease working, "Figures ghost type moves work on the undead."
<I thought healin' moves was wut killed 'em,> Mercer noted.
Jackal shrugged, "Oh what I wouldn't give to have Arthur here. He's got more than enough experience with stuff like this."
Jackal lead the party down and out, they were close to a old path through a abandoned section of town, Gaia would meet with them pretty easily here.
"Okay we're all teamed up again, first up-" he tapped his earbud, "Fox how goes evacuation."
"Going better Jackal, Interpol showed up at last with some air support, we're still mopping up, how many monsters do you think Helmuth made?"
"I don't want to know, could be hundreds if not thousands that we have to contend with."
"Pleasant!"
"Quite. I get the feeling whatever is causing this is at the dig site. Keep up the work, Catacomb Team has found something else, will be investigating there."
Jackal cut the call and looked to his associates, "Okay so, we're clearly going to be faced with a army of the undead, and while I'm a good shot and my team is capable, we're gonna need a for-"
~Uh hey!~"
Jackal looked over, and saw Hayon staring at a unmanned Power Loader, the arms still set into gripper outfitting, Jackal blinked, "Huh... I would've just summoned my mech for this but... that works."
Jackal turned to Rogue and Gaia, "Anyone care to take a ride on a abandoned Pokefutures power loader?"
Jackal/Silas pulled out his phone and did just that, "Sooooooooooo... that was... special."

Colton fired Sylveon's Desire at his Rabbid counterpart while Kazuma attempted to slam Facepalm Over Two into the mech.
Helmsman was blasted into the Beam by a drone and was struggling to stand. With difficulty, he deployed Monoxide.

Lamb stared at the horde of undead falling into the pit. The lights on her visor seemed to blink slowly before she reconstituted herself.
"It seems a little too far for any combination of techniques I could have," she observed.

Mischief slept fitfully. Even with moonlight, it was too dark to keep away a familiar nightmare.She was alone, without Shadow. Surrounding her were the monsters she so feared, occasionally kicking her out of their way as they hurried on for their incomprehensible work.
Monster 1: Get out of my way, you little monster.
Monster 2: A Zorua! Someone should cage it!
Monster 3: The pest is back again, perhaps it should be put down?
Mischief cowered, struggling to avoid the feet of the monsters, who didn't have time to avoid her. Far too busy. Some were kind enough to step over her, but most just kicked her.
Alone in a world where everyone was bigger and meaner than her, she hid wherever she could. But the monsters didn't want her in there city. Farmers chased her off. Nobody treated her kindly.
Then she was caught. She felt a needle jab into her neck, and a moment later she was in a cage. She felt something cold and hard against her neck...
She woke up with her neck against the food bowl Shadow placed by the bed, shaking and tired.
The sun shone through the window, and she slowly rolled upright, shivering uncontrollably.
Ophidia had some coffee. It didn't help. She couldn't process why without caffeine, so she had another cup. It still didn't help any.
Shadow checked everything in the kitchen and let out a low whistle.
Shadow: Well. I've never known Mischief to pull all her pranks in a single night. But she probably figured you guys would fall for it, and you did. Hook, line, and sinker.
Shadow quickly undos Mischief's pranks, including brewing caffeinated coffee.
Shadow: I'd suggest we find some Chansey to battle. Huge experience gain. But you might want to have what I just brewed. Mischief switched the normal coffee with decaf.
