Talbain, Lucario and Mae were all tossed up, but while each of them had time to fire off a Stone Edge, Aura Sphere and Shock Wave, respectively, all of them landed on Roy, rendering the entire party incapacitated.

Conscious, yes, but no longer able to battle. Talbain stood up with a little bit of help from a Heal Pulse from Lucario, regained his humanity and shambled over to somewhere he could recover himself.

Rod: Of all people it had to be her...

Laura: M-Mom? B-Bro? D-Dad?

-The screens turn back to Multiman's face, which has a truly dark expression-

Dr.Multiman:    Well now that I know what's really going on here... Well, get a load of this.   

-he presses a button on his hover pod-

-The Multi Carrier proper appears, weapons readied and a Z-Crystal-like structure attached to its hull. The structure glows and sends beams down to the bossmons, reinvigorating their Auras as they fire souped-up attacks at the J-Team and Stormchaser-

   Game over.

Amanita: But since then, I've definitely been...less helpful. It's been you, or Ever, or Every. When we fought Revy, I barely managed to beat that one Blissey. When we fought Chaos, I didn't even do anything before I got knocked out. In the Badlands? I wasn't even there for most of it, I was fighting orbs while the two of you saved Every.

Brie: That's...I mean, that's true, technically, I guess, but I think you're getting it wrong.

Amanita: Oh, am I missing some contribution?

Brie: Well, you did save Glockchen in the Chaos fight, but that's not what I mean. You're...dependable.

Amanita: Dependable.

Brie: Yeah, sure, if I want some new species made, I'll ask Every, or if I want a facility quietly infiltrated, I'll ask Ever. But, like...that's the point. I'd ask. Every's...not exactly someone I go to for consistent results, or something safe, or...you get the idea. And Ever...is Ever.

If you hadn't beaten Hygieia, one of us would have had to fight two of Revy's mons at once, and it was taking entire teams to keep up with one of them. I couldn't have saved Glockchen from falling in the Chaos fight; you catching her meant we didn't need to explain to Sholto that one of his team died. We couldn't have survived the fight in the Badlands if you hadn't been covering us with the orbs, and by the end, you were the only person in any shape for the Z-move. You're here, now, with me, because I'm the one who needs backup.

Amanita: ...

Brie: You're the one who resolves everything we can't. Maybe you wouldn't always be the first person to ask, but I would go to you on anything. And I know that sounds stupid, because I'm terrible at words and I'm terrible at this, but I mean it.

Amanita: ...Well. Thanks, I guess.

Brie: There's more, though. You're...you know I just said I'm terrible at words? You're the opposite of that.

Amanita: (dryly) Good at words?

Brie: Not exactly? Ever's good at words, you're good at like...feeling.

Amanita: If this is some "heart of the team" thing—

Brie: (pressing on) You're the one who got me to rest after the sky broke. You kept Every from burning out when she got back from HQ after her fight with Chaos. You kept track of how we were doing on New Year's, when none of us wanted to say anything.

You're the together one, I heard you say that to Every earlier. That's a thing. Don't discount it. You've helped all of us in little ways, you've helped a lot of people. That adds up.

-she blinks at the nervous look on Brie's face, and smiles-
