-Shaun turns in three papers. The first is written in really sloppy handwriting, almost chicken-scratch (NOT the bird language chicken scratch, which he can also read and write).-

The J-Team staff had been at the forefront of these rifts since they emerged. What can you recall about your first experiences with the rifts as they emerged?

I was confused, as I thought they were all Ultra Wormholes, which are normally confined to the Alola region.

Which, in essence, these rifts are but that's another story.

The rifts are an ominous sight to behold in many parts of the region. One would expect continued anarchy, but somehow Kalos had remained reasonably stable. How does the J-Team manage to contain the panic?

We don't.

The rifts are monitored for potential threats. What are the usual threats to come out of the rifts, and how dangerous are they?

They tend to be Pokémon due to the nature of our world.

Usually.

Anyway the threats have ranged from friendly Pokémon to murderous Delta Pokémon to abominations.

So yeah, avoid them.

Are there any other unusual phenomena that have been found to be associated with the formation of the rifts?

Not...really, I think?

What's the weirdest (not necessarily dangerous) thing you've seen fall out of the rift?

My female self.

Long story.

How has the presence of the rifts affected the local biota? Have the surrounding Pokemon displayed unusual or adverse behaviors in close proximity to the rifts?

From what I've seen, no. The only thing that comes to mind is them affecting the daily routine of wild Pokémon.

- Shaun Sapphire

-The second is written in simple, smooth blocky letters.-

The J-Team staff had been at the forefront of these rifts since they emerged. What can you recall about your first experiences with the rifts as they emerged?

Lemmee think...uh...there were a lot of Blazing Sigil characters.

A lot.

The rifts are an ominous sight to behold in many parts of the region. One would expect continued anarchy, but somehow Kalos had remained reasonably stable. How does the J-Team manage to contain the panic?

LMAO what panic

The rifts are monitored for potential threats. What are the usual threats to come out of the rifts, and how dangerous are they?

Mons galore - usually from universes without Pokémon - and yes.

Are there any other unusual phenomena that have been found to be associated with the formation of the rifts?

No

What's the weirdest (not necessarily dangerous) thing you've seen fall out of the rift?

My boyfriend's female counterpart.

How has the presence of the rifts affected the local biota? Have the surrounding Pokemon displayed unusual or adverse behaviors in close proximity to the rifts?

Maybe, IDK

- Jessica "I Don't Have A Last Name Because I'm An Orphaned Pokémon Cereza What Are You Writing Cereza Stop"

-The third is written in cursive.-

The J-Team staff had been at the forefront of these rifts since they emerged. What can you recall about your first experiences with the rifts as they emerged?

Reality split in half and dropped a video game character in a Ralts' body in front of me.

The rifts are an ominous sight to behold in many parts of the region. One would expect continued anarchy, but somehow Kalos had remained reasonably stable. How does the J-Team manage to contain the panic?

Is...is there any anarchy? There was never any during other events like the Twilight.

The rifts are monitored for potential threats. What are the usual threats to come out of the rifts, and how dangerous are they?

Um...all I've seen is Pokémon.

Are there any other unusual phenomena that have been found to be associated with the formation of the rifts?

Imagine the sound of paper tearing, but it's the fabric of reality instead of paper.

What's the weirdest (not necessarily dangerous) thing you've seen fall out of the rift?

A perfectly normal Bulbasaur.

How has the presence of the rifts affected the local biota? Have the surrounding Pokemon displayed unusual or adverse behaviors in close proximity to the rifts?

What.

I don't even know why I'm doing this...

The J-Team staff had been at the forefront of these rifts since they emerged. What can you recall about your first experiences with the rifts as they emerged?

Well there was the Mauville incident back in January, but that got taken care of. Anything else is still classified.

The rifts are an ominous sight to behold in many parts of the region. One would expect continued anarchy, but somehow Kalos had remained reasonably stable. How does the J-Team manage to contain the panic?

It's not really our job to contain the panic per se past making sure threats don't affect the public too much (That's more Interpol's thing), but after nine months it would appear people are just used to a crack in the sky appearing every couple seconds. Also, many people in Unova remember the Dream Rift incident that isn't all too dissimilar to this current situation.

The rifts are monitored for potential threats. What are the usual threats to come out of the rifts, and how dangerous are they?

Nothing too out of the ordinary yet, for us anyway.

Are there any other unusual phenomena that have been found to be associated with the formation of the rifts?

Locations from other universes tend to mesh with this one. I've heard rumors out of Unova about strange creatures, but I haven't had the chance to determine their veracity.

What's the weirdest (not necessarily dangerous) thing you've seen fall out of the rift?

That's... mostly classified.

How has the presence of the rifts affected the local biota? Have the surrounding Pokemon displayed unusual or adverse behaviors in close proximity to the rifts?

There haven't been any major disruption to mon biorhythms that I've been able to witness regarding the hole in the sky, but I wouldn't be surprised if more things change as things go forward. Not super different from any other major disturbance really.

Colt staggered after he took Yunwa’s slap to the back.

“Wait...” Caliburn paused. He looked at the Sentret. The sky. The Sentret. The sky. The Sentret. Under the Sentret’s arms.

“Can you fly?”

Late one night

Xatu closed the Prax Obscura and slammed a wing on the desk in his Pokéball’s environment. He was onto something, he just knew it. Some things showed signs of connection but he was too tired to focus.

And he was getting rather tired of things he could barely read.

He ejected himself from the Nest Ball and grabbed a questionnaire he had heard about from the J-Team’s chat. With the paper and a pen in his psychic grip, he projected.

Colton’s Dream

Black. That was everything. Yet he could stand and see himself, clothing, jacket, headphones, even his Sun Stone.

A voice cleared its throat, revealing itself to be a human with brown hair more unkempt than his trainer, a distant look in his eyes and a shirt with a pattern reminiscent of Xatu’s wings.

“Take a seat and we’ll get started,” the man chimed as a seat spontaneously appeared in front of him.

Colt walked over, sat down and started answering the questions.

Some Time Later...

The J-Team staff had been at the forefront of these rifts since they emerged. What can you recall about your first experiences with the rifts as they emerged?

First thing I remember is our Halloween party being brought to a screeching halt. If memory serves, the rifts were big yet distant enough to not cause consequence.

The rifts are an ominous sight to behold in many parts of the region. One would expect continued anarchy, but somehow Kalos had remained reasonably stable. How does the J-Team manage to contain the panic?

You remain lax in the face of presumed peril, and eventually people might start to catch on to the fact that no present danger is presented.

The rifts are monitored for potential threats. What are the usual threats to come out of the rifts, and how dangerous are they?

I wouldn’t know, sorry.

Are there any other unusual phenomena that have been found to be associated with the formation of the rifts?

Some Whismur-esque creatures that looked like us. Despite their line’s penchant for being rather loud, if memory serves right they were rather subdued, which is probably the strangest part of all.

What's the weirdest (not necessarily dangerous) thing you've seen fall out of the rift?

By default, my Kartana, Caliburn. But that’s unfair; he is completely alien to this universe. My Blaziken, however, is actually Roy from Blazing Sigil. It’s surprising, I know.

How has the presence of the rifts affected the local biota? Have the surrounding Pokemon displayed unusual or adverse behaviors in close proximity to the rifts?

Like I said, the rifts are high in the atmosphere, so it’s likely only the local birdmons are paranoid. Even then, enough time has passed that the rifts are something they’ve learned to accept in their environment.

The paper teleported away to where it would need to go. Xatu dispelled the dream and made sure his trainer would not remember it. He slept the remaining hours he had to sleep away.

The Stormchaser

F!Robin: "Yes, I am. Here you go." She hands him a sheet of paper.

On the paper is written, in very neat writing in what appears to be a calligrapher's pen, the following:

The J-Team staff had been at the forefront of these rifts since they emerged. What can you recall about your first experiences with the rifts as they emerged?

Well, my first experience would have been arriving in this world in the first place via one of them.

The rifts are an ominous sight to behold in many parts of the region. One would expect continued anarchy, but somehow Kalos had remained reasonably stable. How does the J-Team manage to contain the panic?

From what I gather, that is more of Interpol's job than ours. We merely deal with those threats Interpol cannot handle on its own.

The rifts are monitored for potential threats. What are the usual threats to come out of the rifts, and how dangerous are they?

Usually? Nothing dangerous, and, indeed, many have been friendly. That said, there have been notable exceptions. My possessed future self that I am sure we killed, for example.

Are there any other unusual phenomena that have been found to be associated with the formation of the rifts?

None that I am personally aware of, no.

What's the weirdest (not necessarily dangerous) thing you've seen fall out of the rift?

My aforementioned possessed future self. It was weird before, and now she's apparently back from the dead and it's weirder.

How has the presence of the rifts affected the local biota? Have the surrounding Pokemon displayed unusual or adverse behaviors in close proximity to the rifts?

Not that I've noticed, they seem to act similarly around the rifts as they do elsewhere.

A recording starts up, a young adult with er hair in a side-pony is there. Se greets the camera with an awkward wave.

Maggie: "Uh, hey, my name's Maggie Schneider. I'm part of the J-Team and a PEFE researcher and... yeah, thought I should do this. Dunno how many taped recordings you'll be getting, but..."

"...Yeah, anyway, let's get started."

Se looks at the paper and reads it off.

The J-Team staff had been at the forefront of these rifts since they emerged. What can you recall about your first experiences with the rifts as they emerged?

"Okay... I was at the Alola League and I saw the thing that broke the hole in the sky. Not the, like, machine itself, I heard about that after, but the beam. And, then, yeah, we knew about Mobius and we've been dealing with them for a bit. And rift experience has been here and there."

The rifts are an ominous sight to behold in many parts of the region. One would expect continued anarchy, but somehow Kalos had remained reasonably stable. How does the J-Team manage to contain the panic?

"Eh... I'm not sure how much we can do panic-wise. I mean, I've tried helping once earlier, but things are generally accepted enough at this point? I think? I could be wrong?"

The rifts are monitored for potential threats. What are the usual threats to come out of the rifts, and how dangerous are they?

"Well..."

A Whismur bursts into the room, she's white, has buck teeth, and has a wig that looks like Maggie's hair.

She shows a scribble involving several Whismurs like her battling.

Maggie looks at the drawing and then back at the camera.

Maggie: "Right, she's the typical for what I've been dealing with coming out of the hole. There's also been Blazing Sigil characters and such popping up and Yarne told me about a time one of them summoned a bunch of Risen in the middle of Slateport, but... that's April Fools for you."

"Dangerous... there was one encounter with a boss enemy from Empire Souls that happened, I think, but that turned out fine to my knowledge."

Are there any other unusual phenomena that have been found to be associated with the formation of the rifts?

The Whismur holds up a picture of some of the places they'd been before, like how part of Route 4 got a cold side to it.

Maggie: "Right, yeah, this is mostly associated with her and her group, but at least some places in Unova we've been to have had their landscape changed. We're working on getting them back to how they used to be, but..."

"My boss also apparently saw a part of the Mauville food court turn anyone who entered it into Pokemon, but people were just rolling with it, so..."

What's the weirdest (not necessarily dangerous) thing you've seen fall out of the rift?

Maggie gestures to the Whismur, who giggles.

Maggie: "Enough said."

How has the presence of the rifts affected the local biota? Have the surrounding Pokemon displayed unusual or adverse behaviors in close proximity to the rifts?

Maggie: "Nothing to do with the rifts themselves, no... more what comes out of them. Like, given how Route 4's mostly desert, I didn't see as many wild Pokemon in the icy area, save a few Vanillite who must have come from nearby, but that said, I do wonder whether those that could handle the cold might be more active during the day or if they still prefer the desert sun's heat..."

"Also, Yarne ended up joining the Nidoran colony near Goldenrod and he came from a rift so... maybe folks who go through or come from the rifts are integrating into their new environments whatever that may mean? Would probably require more research."

"But, uh, yeah, those are the questions. Hope you can get something interesting to use from this. Bye."

Se and the Whismur wave bye at the camera as it shuts off.

A Hypno is seen turning off the camera.

SleepyHead: <Okay, think that's good. Better than last take, at least.>

Maggie: "Don't remind me..."

"Now, just need to get it sent to that documentary guy..."

-As for Hacks, on the note of the "neat place", it seems somewhat bigger than the standard residential modules; in fact, it seems like it might be two modules put together, with a doorway where the "seam" would be. The first, of course, is laid out like normal, with a large bed, a workspace with a multiple-monitor computer, and a kitchen area. Looking through the doorway in the back, however, the second half seems to be completely remodeled into a workshop. The first visible table in the workshop area has a couple work-in-progress prosthetic prototypes.-
