: In the sequel Thor will kidnap Atreus and try to make him into a replacement for his sons. It'd be a darker take on the weird quasi-frenemy partnership Thor and Loki had in the original myths.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI think you censored the wrong part of that post. The second sentence doesn't spoil as much as the first.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Decided to just spoiler the whole thing. The second part warrants spoilering too given the whole Atreus = Loki Reveal.
Disgusted, but not surprisedAnyone else find the Vanir/Giant shilling a bit fishy?
Secret SignatureI think its morseo Faye seems really fishy.
Mimir seemed pretty sympathetic to them and he's been on the up-and-up with Kratos and Atreus.

Disgusted, but not surprisedx8 Well, she was fine inflicting a pretty crappy fate on her son before...
"And when the last law was down and the Devil turned round on you, where would you hide, the laws all being flat?"Still, Kratos did say to listen to the other side's story. So far Mimir is just fuelling his prejudices against Gods.
Of course, all Aesir thus far were jerks, and the Giants and Vanir were generally helpful.
Secret SignatureThe Giants also get sympathy points since they are the victims of genocide.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThere is a lot of Informed Wrongness going on in regards to Thor, Odin, and the Aseir gods, but nothing that we see really suggests otherwise.
Also, the game managed to sell over 3 million copies worldwide in the first 3 days of its release, making it the fastest selling PS4 exclusive so far. Damn son!
Just beat the game, mechanically and storywise it is fantastic. Still have to do the fog realm, finish off a few bonus bosses, and maybe sweep the realms for that Platinum trophy (I'm dreading those damn Ravens though). Only complaint was that the final boss was a bit of a let down compared to other parts of the story, and that everything ended rather abruptly, though this portion of the story is clearly done.
I'm surprised the devs have no plans for DLC, while there were several major reveals ( no Thor or Odin appearances let alone fights, Freya becoming hostile, multiple other mythologies being revealed as canon in the universe, the whole damn Loki thing and the impending early Ragnarรถk) that are obviously being saved for the sequels....I would have thought that 3 of the realms being sealed despite existing in the travel interface would have made for obvious expansion material.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Okay, I plan to give much more detailed thoughts on the game, since i'm... I think 50% of the way through it, but holy shit, the Camera is awful. It's so bad, it alone knocks the combat down several pegs. It feels like they designed the enemies first and the camera second, because I am constantly being hit from random directions (No, the arrows or Atreus calling out do not help), can't judge attack distances, hit by ground attacks I can't see properly due to the angle of the ground, lose track of fast enemies, and so on. The first thing they need to change in the sequel is that camera.
A corpse should be left well enough alone...Great, I missed the Nifhelm cipher at the top of the mountain & I can't reach it on foot anymore.
Does the teleport system eventually get upgraded so I can go back there?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."It does get upgraded later but I never checked there myself. Though the game ends on a note that allows to roam after you finish the story, so it's likely.
The Completionist gives this game a rating of: Complete it!
Grinding for Mist Echoes is suffering.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Well. I didn't expect this Call Back.
Yeah, now I want to play this.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Wow, this writing is night and day compared to the original games. It actually makes me want to play this.
You should. It is a good game, and the writing is pretty good for the most part. This game may be "linear" but that word really has become dirtied and sullied. I played God of War 2 and 3 a few times each, and the difrerences are stark (plus this game probably has more content than those two put together).
Don't catch you slippin' now.A minor thing...but did anyone else appreciate having health meters in this game for boss fights? From GOW II onwards, the series did away with them for some reason. Personally, I like having a visual representation of how much progress I've made in a fight.
Disgusted, but not surprisedI very much did. It was incredibly annoying not knowing how far you are into the boss fight.
Don't catch you slippin' now.Kratos is a Retired Monster.
Whether you think it's possible to atone for, well, destroying Greece is anyone's guess. I think it's fairly clear Kratos' revenge was just because he couldn't stop at some point, not so much because he actually was striking against the people who deserved it.
And his wife may have married him simply because he was the worst person in the world.
