Well, only in the parts of the Internet that don't follow or like MLPFIM. In 'real life', that is, out of geekdom in general, people seems to think of it only as 'that show for kids'.

If all that ponifying of other fictional characters, pony pornography, pony personification, brony pride, viral pony advertising, and whatever the hell they do otherwise about those ponies is supposed to be the work of one crazy fan(which appears as many), I must say that I find that quite impressing, because of that incredible scale.

Being at the Heavens, control the land. Being at the Earth, remove its keystones. And lay bare the scarlet hearts of man!You know what I mean.
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference. There is nothing inherently sexual about ponification, or viral pony advertising (whatever that means).

Viral pony advertising would be talking about it in cases where the discussion doesn't have anything to do with ponies, which also hooks in more people, which then causes more of the pony-shoehorning-in-discussions, and so on.
There is nothing inherently sexual about ponification. This does not mean that pony pornography does not exist or is difficult to come across. I guess most of it can be avoided if you go out of your way to avoid it though. (disclaimer:I only ever look at the thumbnails of these things while browsing imageboards so for all I know it could be something safe that just seems misleading)

Being at the Heavens, control the land. Being at the Earth, remove its keystones. And lay bare the scarlet hearts of man!Being only a casual fan of the show, I've found out it's relatively easy to steer clear from the porn material as long as you don't look obsessively into the fanart range.
I usually come across it while looking for fanart of something else.
I haven't actually seen much of it, but if there's something like an imageboard exclusively designed for ponyshit, then there has to be far more than i've seen myself.

Anyone got any pastebin backups?
Neither goony beard-men nor rainbow-haired she-twinks will stand in the way of my dreams!Sorry for bumping this thread again, but I was going on Know Your Meme and a guy there put it in an interesting way.
"Anime is art. Art made by humans who want to make anime girls hot. Seriously who would want to make ugly anime chicks. And this is where the part comes. People want to draw a mirror of their fetish, what makes them stiff. RL Girls are a product of random genes which you like, or don’t. RL Girls can’t be perfect. Anime Girls can."
...So basically, the reason for this is Generic Cuteness.
The reason why there are people who prefer indulging in Perverse Sexual Lust as opposed to... I don't know, regular sexual lust is because the subjects of one's PSL's have no limit to how attractive they can be, whereas real life people do.
Evil is my favorite color. My deepest apologies for bumping this thread, but I came across this post (WARNING, I recommend you guys get a bottle of Brain Bleach before looking at it!) on Tumblr about this confession talking about two Dragonball characters she wants to pork.
Not only did it make me feel uncomfortable, but I feel as though its kind of sad in a way. It made me feel weird looking at it.
Look, 2D characters aside, that seems like a pretty normal erotic dream. People have dreams, random shit happens, some of that shit happens to be erotic. While confessions like those are definitely TMI, I wouldn't think any less of a person for having such dreams.
As for the wishing it actually happened afterwards, that's pretty normal too. People like having sex, so it's normal to wish for sexual fulfilment. She might want to check with her husband if he could mix things up a little (within his own comfort range, obviously).
EDIT: People are so scared of sex. Sure, they engage in it, they enjoy it, but so few actually talk about it. People have their kinks, and shouldn't be so afraid of discussing it.

Well maybe I did overreact. It's just that I think that people should keep their fantasies to themselves (no offense). I don't think having sex is a bad thing, but it gets awkward when it's brought up in conversations. Just saying.
I like both types of girls (Real life and 2d). And certain men.
This doesn't bother me that much either way, though.
Watch SymphogearI'd consider sex a bit of a private matter that you only discuss when everyone is okay with it, but you most definitely should discuss it, and not just with your partner. Sex can be a pretty darn awesome thing, and an unsatisfactory sex-life can put a damper on any relationship. Getting a few ideas from other people in such a case is generally a good course of action.
If you don't communicate about this kind of stuff, the only way you can learn about sex is through porn, and learning sex from porn is like learning kung-fu from wuxia flicks.

It freaked me out because Trunks and Goten are freakin' children. Bleh.
One of my friends makes me a little concerned with this.
He claims a new loli-looking picture to be his "waifu" every week or so, and they all look...rather young. Its getting to be kind of disturbing, especially since when we played Yugioh, rather than make a functional deck, he made a deck full of "my lovelies~" as he called them. It was full of the "Charmer" series, and lots of monsters that look like young girls.
He works at a high school. He previously worked at a middle school.
As to the whole thing about people only into 2D girls, I have decided to try not to concern myself with them. They're not in my social circle, hence, if they want to perv exclusively after fictitious women and ignore the real thing, fine by me. It could also have the beneficial secondary effect of streamlining the gene pool.
I don't know your friend, but can it be that he just likes cute little girls in a normal "I want to hug them" kind of way, and comically exaggerates this feeling into something sexual because it creeps out his friends and allows him to keep up his façade of male bravado?
I mean, I claimed Applejack as my waifu once, and I'm most definitely not into bestiality.

I honestly don't know any more. There have been so many, many fake leads in one direction or the other, I've just about given up trying to figure out his issues.
THANK YOU! I'm tired of people thinking this sh*t is okay.
There are some things better left unsaid, and that tumblr post is one of them.
Wait, this actually happens? I've seen jokes about it in various places, but I thought it was one of those comedic exaggeration things.
Mostly, it is. But for every crazy exaggeration, there's a bare handful that actual believes it. The Flat Earth Society, for example.
Yes, it happens.
Dude, I have nothing against sex at all, nothing. I just don't like feeling dirty-minded about it. =/
Yeah, it's squicky to see people openly lust at children characters, including characters who are canonically not children but who still look like children.
Lusting after child characters who resemble teens more is easier to bear.
At least, age them up first.
Plants are aliens, and fungi are nanomachines.Fine with me. Just don't be so judgemental.
