Targeting protection is less common than you'd think. Most of the best monsters rely on negations or blanket destruction protection. And battle protection is rare, so stealing a huge beatstick can actually be very impactful.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Yeah, I was actually curious how this card would fare in the context of current Yu-gi-oh! and how it makes much to do about targeting effects and what-not.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. In current Yugioh it'll be decent. The thing is, regardless of how strong it looks, it's not an extender so drawing it in your opening hand makes it dead generally(though they can sometimes summon on your turn), and it's unsearchable.
It's unlikely to have much of an impact. Sure, might win a few duels randomly due to having a pretty damn good effect, but a huge impact? Ehhhhh. It's definitely a better side card than Mind Control, that's for sure. Or just using both, but there's a lot of times you would rather have the one that doesn't have a restriction on the monster placed.
Lots of good cards are dead draws if you go first. Like Dark Ruler No More. Side decking is a mechanic specifically for these situations and dedicated going second decks exist.
On the unsearchable part: Imperial Order was a sacky unsearchable one-off. It was also an auto-win button if you drew it. If the card is impactful enough people will still play it, especially if they have access to draw power.
You'd probably run both, like how people treat Harpie's Feather Duster as a fourth copy of Lightning Storm. At the very least you can hope to steal a monster to Link it away.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Mind Control even barely sees play. That won't... really change.
Not seeing why it would have such a big impact at this point. "It's better" isn't very convincing to me.
I'll wait for results. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But yeah, I'm not convinced it's really that noteworthy. So let's move on.
In about a month, or maybe 3 weeks, we do have another OCG list coming. I wonder what their plan is this time. They did advertise Toadally Awesome as part of the deck strategies, so it might not be hit this time, but I can see it being banned in the future if they don't give it an erratum(namely on the revival effect being more problematic than just the negate effect. Though to be fair, they both should've always been a hard once per turn).
Morphtronics' first high-level Monster, huh. Makes sense a 3D printer would be their largest utensil.
Both effects top of deck "drawback" are meant to combo with the two phone Morphtronics, but reading that only makes me want to splash Rank Up Magic - The Seventh One on the thing.
Still no HOPT effects, by the way. Not even on the summon.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I can't believe Yata-Garasu is back!
The Protomen enhanced my life.A comment on dpYGO's newest video pointed out that the newest Morphtronic enables Tzolkin. It's a Level 6 Tuner and you can turbo out Gadget Hauler (also Level 6) with Gadget Gamer.
You can probably also make some Rank 6 that might be useful (what even is the Rank 6 pool outside of Vampire stuff), but I think some Morphtronic cards lock you into Synchros? I dunno. EDIT: Photon Strike Bounzer seems decent. Also, forgot about Beatrice.
The video in question.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? This isn't related to any of the new cards of the banlist, but something that's kinda stuck with me... I really don't like how few Pendulum archetypes have access to in-archetype Extra deck monsters of every type.
I can only really think of four, and three of them are specifically from the Arc-V anime (D/D/D, Odd-eyes, and Magician), and the one that doesn't (Dracoslayer) only has one of each Extra deck monster type up to that point.
Give me more anime-style decks that weren't in the anime, darn it.
I decided to make a thread for Rush Duel format. Its worlds apart from TCG/OCG fare but its been a fun time playing it on occasion, would like to see if others were interested in it.
My mind immediately jumped to System Down, whether or not it'd be useful.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyReally? System Down and not Chimeratech Fortress Dragon?
I'm not entirely sure what the intention here is. Like, sure, it's very good set-up for Chimeratech Fortress Dragon, but the 3rd effect is Earth Machine support, and AFIAK they don't care about what type you opponent's monsters are.

IIRC< the guy who used this card was a Machine King user, which I believe gains more atk for every machine on the field.
Yeah, this is our Big Five card du jour. Used by Nezbitt the weapons department head to turn everything on the field into creepy-ass Uncanny Valley robots.
Oh right, CFD. That works.
The sad, REAL American dichotomyNew Performapal Odd-Eyes card.
AC02-JP031 EMオッドアイズ・プリースト Entermate Odd-Eyes Priest (Performapal Odd-Eyes Seer)If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?
Level 6 DARK Spellcaster Pendulum Effect Monster
ATK 100
DEF 1800
Pendulum Scale 1
Pendulum Effect
You can only use the Pendulum Effect of this card’s name once per turn.
(1) You can target 1 “Performapal” or “Odd-Eyes” card in your GY; add it to your hand, then destroy this card.
Monster Effect
You can only use the monster effect of this card’s name once per turn.
(1) If you control this Pendulum Summoned card: You can activate this effect based on its battle position;
● Attack Position: Banish this card, then target 1 “Performapal” or “Odd-Eyes” monster in your GY; Special Summon it.
● Defense Position: Take 1 “Performapal” or “Odd-Eyes” Pendulum Monster from your Deck, and either add it to your Extra Deck face-up or send it to the GY.
The OCG version Morphtronicced him. Anyways, his Pendulum Effect retrieves from the GY. What's the trick to send EM/Odd-Eyes Pendulums to the grave?
EDIT: Nevermind, I just noticed the Pendulum Effect says "cards" instead of "monsters". You want to retrieve your one-off Spells and Traps with it instead of your Pendulum Monsters.

Things could get dicey now.
Though, do we have any dice-themed monsters that look like dice? (I don't mean like those Speedroids; I think they had stuff like a "Tri-Eyed Dice"? I mean an actual archetype of monsters with "Dice" in their name.)
Change of Heart is effectively free targeting monster removal + material for a play + a possible beatstick.
