no. Not not unless it was accompanied with a Hard reboot.

Part of the reason being that Konami had created legacy support for past decks in current sets that would be useless if their deck is rotated out. Reprints help but they usually assume that the rest of the deck as easily accessible and are likewise similarly useless.

Set Rotation's best best is in Rush Duels which is tantamount to a hard reset of the game (the caveat being that the original game is still being developed along side it)

Topologic Zeroboros is getting an errata so it matches the OCG text.

The change is basically it resummons itself during the next Standby Phase instead of specifically your next Standby Phase.

I kinda think its too little, too late considering we're past the point where Links are mandatory for most decks and that the EMZ is mandatory to get a monster out, but Zerovoros would now serve a niche as counters for when Cyverse.dek or another Link focused deck becomes meta again

Yeah, count me in the crowd of "set rotation won't help yugioh". Yu-gi-oh has spent a good decade now going against this notion, be it on the buffing side by creating legacy supports for archetypes that sometimes go fifteen years in the past, and on the nerfing side by the notion of banlist that explicitly hit cards that have become too toxic to have in the game due to their unforseen interactions with later cards.

And, on a simpler note, I don't think the game needs all that much help in the first place. There's plenty to criticize, but I don't think the game is dying or in a bad enough state in general that switching to set rotation format would be improving it.

Yeah, the VRAINS era, which is my least favorite post-Synchro era, saw a jump in tournament attendance.

oh NOW they updated Zeroboros.

Gandora-X text update when? I don't care if it's errata in OCG to match TCG text or the other way around, just make them the same.....

The OCG version would probably get an errata since it currently allows for FTKs while the TCG version doesn't.

Some new Xyz Monsters and Infernity support.

Raiders Knight lets you cheese out Arc Rebellion Xyz Dragon super easily if you're into that.

Those Dragma cards seem to tell an interesting story. Ecclesia apparently gets betrayed by her own side for some reason and is saved by Albus who turns into a dragon-doggo-thing.

Their relationship seems cute, but I'm wondering if it'll stay that way. Kinda worried it'll end up something like...

I love this movie/show so much.

Ice Barrier SD will have 46 cards total.

Technically it's 41 and the special Power-up Pack but the TCG always gets the pack stuff in the deck.

...Rata's gonna have a conniption. I hope they retrain Royal Knight and have it give you 4 Ice Coffin tokens on summon or something.

So people running the deck have to play him.

I still stand by the belief that the archetype barely needs any new monsters, just a way to protect summons from being negated, and a way to cheat them out from the deck (in defense position).

[up]That is a good tech card, at least moreso back in the day when there weren't a lot of XYZ or Links that could avoid the lower level monsters' defensive effects (i.e. when Wetlands of the Ice Barrier was more viable).

previous suggestions (copied below) omni negate Counter-trap, but honestly, omni negates are annoying as fuck. I'd later thought of a "De-Synchro"-like quick-play, and an edit to the Link 1, so I decided to refine my card ideas.

Recall the deck's lore is the Ice Barrier Main Deck monsters are keeping the Extra Deck monsters imprisoned, except for when the Godzilla Threshold is reached.

  1. "Accumulation of the Ice Barrier" Continuous Trap: Up to twice per turn, you can return an Ice Barrier card from your GY to your Deck; Special Summon one Level 6 or lower Ice Barrier monster from your Deck in Defense position.
    • Supports: Dewloren, Raiho, Dai-Sojo, Dance Princess, Warlock, Defender, Secret Guards, Cryomancer, Prior, and Blizzed.
    • Supported by: Strategist, Spellbreaker, Geomancer, Prior, and Gungnir and Brionac (both in their effects, and synching putting material in the grave).
  2. "Foundation of the Ice Barrier" Field Spell: Ice Barrier monsters can be summoned without a tribute. The summon of Ice Barrier monsters can't be negated. If the field is sent to the GY, you can Special Summon one Ice Barrier monster from your hand.
    • Supports: Generals Grunard, Gungnir, and Raiho; Dai-Sojo, and Medium (who does have her own Special Summon effect).
  3. "Keeper of the Ice Barrier" Link 1, down arrow, WATER/Aqua, 1000 ATK: Material is any Tuner (the archetype has 4: Defender, Geomancer, Cryomancer, and Dewdark). When summoned, add one Ice Barrier Spell or Trap to your hand. You can Synchro Summon during your opponent's turn.
  4. "Recidivism of the Ice Barrier" Quick-Play Spell: Return one Synchro on the field to the Extra Deck; Special Summon monsters (including one Tuner Monster) from your Deck or GY whose total levels equal the level of that Synchro Monster. You cannot Synchro Summon for the remainder of the turn.
  5. "Reflection of the Ice Barrier" Counter Trap: Once per turn, If you control an Ice Barrier card, if your opponent activates a card effect or summons a monster, negate it. If you control two or more Ice Barrier monsters, you can activate this card by discarding it to the GY.

I'm considering replacing the Special Summon effect of the "Foundation" field spell with an effect where the Field can't be destroyed if you control an Ice Barrier monster. Or maybe an effect where Ice Barrier monster effects can't be negated.

Full(?) card list for Rise of the Duelist's TCG release.

I still stand by the belief that the archetype barely needs any new monsters, just a way to protect summons from being negated, and a way to cheat them out from the deck (in defense position).

They don't even make for a good Synchro engine due to inconsistent levels and lack power pringles. They definitely need some new monsters.

Also Royal Knight alone kinda destroys your argument.

Some very long-awaited doodz in the new stuff, including the last un-imported Superheavy Samurai, the Strongest Duelist Yuya exclusives, and Twinkle Littlestar and Arsenal Falcon, thus finally finishing off the Dimension Box after four years (quoth a poster in the Reddit thread, "Never do that again, Konami").

My problem with Ice Barrier is that they have no game plan, no winning strategy. Yes they can lock down people but what are they going to do after that? They have no way to remove a target, meaning if the opponent manage to get a monster that stronger than all of the Ice Barrier "boss" monster on the field than they can't do anything beside wait out the game. Also the token created from Royal Knight can beat up Royal Knight in Wetland Beatdown.

  • Royal Archknight of the Ice Barrier Level 4
  • Water / Warrior
  • When this card is normal or special summoned, special summon as many Ice Barrier - Ice Coffin tokens to your side of the field as possible (Water / Aqua / Level 2 / 1000 / 0). During the turn you activate this effect, you cannot special summon any additional monsters except Water monsters. You can banish this card from your graveyard, target 1 Ice Barrier monster special summoned from the extra deck, during this turn that card cannot be affected by card effects.

[up][up]Most of the Synchros can remove to some extent, and Raiho can burn through an opponent's resources, unless they have graveyard effects (which Ice Barrier doesn't yet have an answer to). Secret Guards and Defender block opponent's monsters from doing jack shit about it.

Hmmmm...Ice Dragon's Prison could be good for one of my online decks.

[down]Fair. Give 'em a negation-based Necrovalley, preferably on the above-described field.

You know what game this is, right?

Secret Guards and Defender block opponent's monsters from doing jack shit about it.

Secret Guards only provides targeting protection and has shit stats. Defender is bad.
