Genius: The Transgression, Anyone?

I just downloaded the gamebooks, and I have fallen in love with Genius The Transgression. For anyone who hasn't played it before, you basically play as one of five classes of mad scientists, using your various fantastic creations(Wonders) for the betterment of mankind. I already have the half-formed fetus of a plot, so would anyone like to play? I figure that we'd run the game through Ventrilo and maybe Open RPG.

I try and tailor my plots to every set of characters, but if you want hints about the plot, I can say that it involves ancient relics, conspiracies, and a possible crossover into another Wo D gameline.

I'm also a fairly lenient GM, and I'm willing to bend the rules in favor of storytelling. This especially comes into play with your Wonders: as long as it follows the restrictions of each Axiom you're using, go ahead. I'll allow a Katastrofi 1 Tesla Gun powered by the soul of a forsaken child, but it'll only do bashing damage.

Hello? I wanna play a game too! I've already figured out what sort of character I want to be. There's so much stuff I want to put into practice.

FUCKING DO IT RIGHT NOW BIATCH!!

Yeah, maybe I should finally roll up a character myself. Thinking of being a Hoffnung since they seem like they'd make good GMP Cs.

o, you're making Hoffnunf. I'll make Staunen, a Scholastic, favoured axioms Apokalypsi and Metapropi. Now how should I spend the dots... I want to put the emphasis on the mental attrbutes, spen as much as possible on Intelligence, Wits, Resolve. The physical attributes I will leave as a Dump Stat, and invest what is left into lots of Presence. I want my Scholar to be charismatic and convincing. I plan to make him go the Paragon way. It's tough, but given the favoured axioms it's not impossible to do. After all, the Karma Meter does not penalize passive crimes, as in letting the Navigator KILL THAT BASTARD. The third Axiom I will pay the most attention to will be Prostasia, because cool armors are sweet. I'll just ignore the rest. Specializing, that's the trick. Now, how do we go from here?

I'm writing up my SCIENCE DETECTIVE right now, I'll just edit him into this post when I'm done.

  • Concept: Science Detective
  • Foundation: Navigators
  • Virtue: Justice
  • Vice: Pride

What had actually happened was that Klause had witnessed a ritual for a cult of techno-priests, men who had discovered a godlike computer capable of wondrous things. Klause catalyzed that day, realizing that for all his beliefs that the world was dark and gritty and mundane, the fantastic was just around the corner.

Oh crap, when I said Hoffnung I meant Staunen—I get them mixed up. Considering that we're taking totally different spins on it we won't have a problem at all. You also should probably get your hands on the World of Darkness sourcebook for that. And check page 137 for how to make a Wonder. Humans have Size 5.
