Kyouko's into some weird shit.
Homura looks like she has a Keyblade in the new poster, funny enough.
Watch SymphogearSo from what can gather in this trailer, It seems that Homura is recruiting an magical girl she doesn’t know to do one thing: Free Madoka from her clutches.
Who do we think the new magical girl is? I've seen theories positing that it's a fusion of any combination of Mami, Madoka, and/or Homura, or that it's Hitomi.
We are the best friends, we stand as one. Whatever life may bring, we are never alone. My money's on a new character joining the cast.
Fandoms always twist themselves in knots trying to ID characters based on "clues" that were actually just meant to hype up a new character's debut. Then they get butthurt that their theories weren't correct, and this turns into backlash against the new character.
Based on Homura explicitly saying she does not know this person, I'm gonna guess it's someone we've never seen before.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.All I know is that if they plan on redeeming Homura it's going to be a hell of an uphill battle because, for me at least, Rebellion absolutely ruined her character (And I guess the rest of the franchise by extension due to spitting on the show's ending. Though I guess a happy ending override should've been expected to an extent since Rebellion is a sequel.) and I know I'm not alone in that.
I am curious at to Mami's role in all this. From what I remember she seemed to be pretty important in that concept trailer from 2015 (I don't think I ever watched that, just saw people talk about it.) but the new trailer doesn't give her much focus at all. And, yeah, changes are to be expected but I'm still curious.
Homura is the same in Rebellion as she's always been.
Homura was right.
If the Law of Cycles can be automated then there's no reason it shouldn't be. "That's how it's retroactively always been done" is a terrible reason to force poor Madoka to have to spend her entire work eternity having to engage in obsolete manual processes.
That's just how progress works.
EDIT: I mean it kinda sucks that Madoka had to get laid off but Homura seems to have a pretty solid welfare safety net in place for her.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.From what I gathered, Madoka did have some dithering vibes, and It is probably that she might see whatever Homrua would put her in as a Gilded Cage, esp in the chance that Homura would end up in perma-overprotective psudo-yandere mode
Hard disagree. In the show Homura did everything for Madoka and cared about her thoughts and feelings. Rebellion!Homura put her own feelings over Madoka's which is the exact opposite of show!Homura. And while she may have asked for Madoka's opinions she still stole Madoka's powers and forced her into a life she didn't want. Show!Homura was sad but she still accepted Madoka's sacrifice. Rebellion!Homura doesn't respect Madoka's choice at all. The two are fundamentally incompatible and aren't really the same character at all.
Homura was long past respecting Madoka's decisions by the time we met her. Her entire plan was based around preventing Madoka from having to make the choice of whether or not to become a magical girl because she already knows the choice she'll make.
Nothing about what Homura does is outside of her normal motivation. She wants to save Madoka. Even if that means she has to save Madoka from Madoka. Because that's what she's been trying to do this whole time.

Even now, people are still debating and analyzing Homura's actions in Rebellion.
I know I'm just geeking out here, but here's the subtitled trailer for the next film.
Sorry, but I can't contain my excitement. Not since 3.0 + 1.0 have I been as pumped for a long-delayed sequel. I just hope that it'll be much more satisfying than the Matrix Revolutions-esque film that that movie was (you could make a drinking game over the similarities).

Should we make a page for the new movie? What do y'all think?
I'd say yes, because we have a poster and a trailer
We are the best friends, we stand as one. Whatever life may bring, we are never alone. The person on the phone is #15 (familiar 15)
I’ve seen analysis pointing to seeing two Homuras running around.
For the record, in recent years, I found another reason to hate Rebellion’s ending, toxic influence on anime personofied by….Higurashi Gou/Sotsu.
A very poor sequel (more like Sotsu retroactively made Gou awful) that came into being because “hey, let’s take a page out of Rebellion’s book and add in a edgy Happy Ending Override to a series that already had a perfect ending then ruin a character while we’re at it. (also ends up ruining a character from another franchise to boot)”
Someone there obviously got high while playing Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep cause the writers were obsessed with Ventus Vanitas dynamics (there was already one canonical one to begin with).
When I first saw that trailer, I was stoked because “cool, we might be getting a remake”.

I disagree that this means show!Homura is long past respecting Madoka's decisions. Yes she disagrees with Madoka's choice and is trying to ensure she doesn't have to choose but that's still her acknowledging Madoka's right to make a choice in the first place. That's part of what makes the ending of the show so bittersweet. She doesn't like Madoka's choice and is upset by it but we see when she goes to fight at the end that she's come to accept it. That's like the entire point of the "Don't forget. Always, somewhere, someone is fighting for you. As long as you remember her, you are not alone." quote.
Trying to save somebody from anything, ever, is disrespecting their choices in some way. Everyone has the choice to get themselves maimed or killed doing something stupid. Going "well aCKshually that's baaad tee hee" is just sneering pretentious nihilistic contrarianism. Plus, you know, even though she was still upset, she let Madoka go in the end and swore the protect the world Madoka chose.
More to the Theory.
“Keyblade Homura” is #15. Unique, independant, and more powerful than the other Claras. Homura has cryptically told #15 that Homura herself is the curse on the world. This is a convuluted suicide plot ordering the incarnation of the light side of Homura’s heart to kill her as penance for her misdeeds.
Kill and replace I Cannot Self-Terminate variety.

Y'all keep saying "Keyblade Homura" but she isn't holding a Keyblade. That's a rotary phone receiver hovering in the foreground.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Its the business end’s design and the most likely way the weapon is used that get the thing called a key blade.
Mechanically, it looks like it gets wielded like a two handed mace (like a key blade).
No, mechanically, it looks like it gets "wielded" like a rotary phone receiver. It's hovering in the foreground. Its size relative to the Homura facing away from the camera is probably not to scale.
Note that the trailer itself features a rotary phone motif. It opens on Homura answering a rotary phone receiver and having a cryptic conversation, with the conversation ending partway through with the sound of clicking the receiver down onto the hook.

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.Don’t ruin the meme potential. “Key Blade Homura” is hilarious meme bait.
@sudrictoon if u want to make a page for Walpurgisnacht Rising then go ahead, nothing's really stopping you
The thing is, you need three tropes. If you can find three tropes from the material released so far, you're good to go

Am I dreaming that Madoka 4 finally has a trailer again? Homura doesn't look very stable. What's up with Sayaka in bandages?
