Wow. It's both astonishing and disturbing how you manage to sound genuinely reasonable and then completely ruin your argument with a bullshit claim.
Minecraft has some of the best music in Indie game history. I'm not even joking. Have you ever listened to "Sweden", "Wet Hands" or "Mice On Venus"? Goosebumps.

Ok, that's just straight up not true. Though a lot of it is more ambient than what you'd expect in smash.
SoundCloudI don't think Minecraft is indie, at least not anymore anyways.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.I do have to say I'm curious how well Minecraft's music will work in Smash, as a fan of it. It's all pretty relaxed, passive stuff, which most Smash music isn't (Animal Crossing being the main exception). I imagine they'll just leave a lot of it as is, but they'll also probably have some remixes that are more action-y. Wonder how that's going to work out.
I missed the part where that's my problem.I was more ehhhhhhhhhh to the idea of Steve. I wasn't excited, but I didn't hate it. It was more 'I don't care for him' which I guess sided more on the idea that I would prefer he didn't make it personally. I was hoping for someone else instead from a list of characters I'm interested in. But he's in and looks interesting.
No character will appeal to everyone. No one should be flipping tables in anger over a new character, but no one should HAVE to like every character added.
-Witty line-What was the song in the trailer, if not something from Minecraft?
Minecraft started out as (and is therefore) Indie. It's not "Mojang" that created it, Minecraft created Mojang.
Some other indie games also helped kickstarting their own companies, yet are still seen as indie, since that's how they started out.

The thing with "complaining" about new characters is that it's just complaining about the character itself.
It has nothing to do with what they can do or what they bring with them, so it just all kinda ends up being the same thing over and over.
There's more to appreciate than there is to criticize when it comes to this stuff, so if the only thing that bothers you is the character or the series...there's really nothing to say other than you don't care about it's inclusion.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.It vaguely sounded like a remix from a background track I don't remember the name of. Then again, it doesn't sound much like anything from the game, maybe its just a placeholder?

I'm assuming the trailer music was a remix, probably of one of the music discs. I can't be sure what since I haven't been keeping up with Minecraft for a few years now.
It's kind of up to how you define it. On the one hand, it undeniably started out as an indie. But now that it's become the most selling game in history, and especially after being bought by Microsoft, it feels a little silly to say it's still indie.

I missed the part where that's my problem.Minecraft may have started as an indie game, but Microsoft has owned it for over half its life. It’s not really an indie game anymore.
I am sure that was a remix of Sweden.

This. I don't exactly like Minecraft, but that's fine. It's not my thing. But he looks good, and looks fun to play, and that's good enough for me. And I'm happy for the people who wants him in, even if it is not, and likely never will be, my kind of game.
Now here, in this post.... I'll just leave my thoughts as this: "What the fuck." Yes. That's it.
Wow, massive

Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."I personally think Minecraft is the most overrated game in existence, but I'll set that aside because I'm just perplexed at how Sakurai managed to make this work so well.
It's been 3000 years…Minecraft is not a game I personally would have picked a fighter from, but my attitude towards the characters' inclusion is the same as my attitude towards any revealed fighter I'm not particularly interested in: happy for the fans of those characters and hoping that they have a lot of fun with them.
Regardless of what Minecraft is now, Steve is the first character on the Smash roster to have been created for an indie game, and that's a pretty big deal.
The only bad thing about Minecraft is letting those creepy Steve posters win.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!Exactly. I didn't know who Joker was, but I ended up loving him.
The Hero is generic looking, but at least he has the RPG mechanic, so that's cool.
I always thought of Terry as generic, specifically because he looks so much like Ken, but he seems to be popular in Latin America, so at least he has a reason to be here.
The only DLC character I actually hate is Piranha Plant, for obvious reasons.

Nah, they pretty much lost when Banjo was announced and their creepy Steve didn't become a reality. Also the bandwagon of that died off
Honestly, in DLC terms, I am apathetic to Byleth for their wonky hitboxes and being an unneeded addition IMHO.

"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."I wonder if the difficulty of making Steve & Alex work lead to delays in their development, which is why Steve was rumoured for the first fighter pass.
Steve & Alex get delayed out of the first pass, Byleth moves up, so a pass full of third-party characters ends on a first-party character. Maybe Byleth was planned to open up Fighter Pass 2, which is just first-party characters until Steve & Alex get bumped back to it.
Because he's the representation of plant power?

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Yeah, they were never genuinely supporting Steve's inclusion in the first place. They just did it out of spite.

I'm honestly mostly... neutral, towards both Minecraft as a game and getting Steve as a fighter. Again, I'm happy for his fans and hoping he'll at least be fun to play as. And there's still 4 more chances for a fighter I want...
And hey, indie rep is cool (even if there's a bunch of characters I'd rather see instead of Steve) so there's that at least.
"Leftover items still have value!"
