The writers retconed Jaime I to having told Tyrion and he told Dany...last season I think?
True. I just got the impression she, and everyone else, knew King Aerys was a monster who needed to be removed, but not that Jaime killed him in that moment specifically because he was going to burn down the entire city as opposed to choosing that moment because it coincided with his father switching sides.
If this were a longer season and the writers had time, I could see Jamie making a speech about the plan to destroy all of King's Landing and that Cersei even made good on the plan by destroying the Sept. He might even have officially dubbed her the Mad Queen.
But, we don't have time to draw some of these things out, unfortunately.
Hmmm... Makes me wonder if that's how they'll kill the Night King if he rides South. They lure him into the city and blow it up. And we end with the Iron Throne officially gone.
My problem with the Arya sex scene is that it still shot with a Male Gaze lens. Arya wants to claim her sexuality? Great! But we're still treated to the usual ass and sideboob shots. More restrained than usual, yes. But still kinda skeevy. Arya's control of the situation isn't reflected in the camera.
And? That's not the point I'm making.

People usually get naked when they have sex.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. That I will agree to. The framing felt uncomfortable. Like, they Male Gaze'd it but also were uncomfortable with the subject matter? It felt strange.
The problem isn’t the male gaze thing, which is incredibly subjective.
The problem is we were introduced to Arya when she was 14 or so and now we’re seeing her have sex. It’d be like watching an Olsen Twin sex scene after growing up with Full House. It may be legal and free of any problematic tropes, but it’s still Michelle goddammit! It’s weird and uncomfortable.
They asked Maise Williams how much she wanted to show and she asked for the sideboob and other angles.
Enough to show she's an adult and be sexy but not bare all.
They would have been comfortable with just a back.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Ah. It just felt like they only had two camera shots and weren't varying it up, so that's what made me think that they might have been uncomfortable with it.
She said she felt uncomfortable only because they were acting a bit too nice to her about it and trying not to embarrass her or make her feel like she was coerced.
Qui odoratus est qui fecit. There's a scientific term for what you're feeling. Google "The Westermarck effect."

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyCue the Night King foregoing Winterfell and making a beeline to King's Landing.
If he were any other invading force, sure.
But they've portrayed the Night King and the Walkers as such as unyielding and unstoppable force that... It feels out of character. Like, he doesn't have a strategy further than 'I have the largest ultimate army that needs no food, armor, or anything and give their all to the cause' so there's no reason to just split and go to King's Landing.
And a defeat at Winterfel makes Cersei's failure feel so much more. While obviously there would be no way to know, them winning without Cersei's forces just feels oddly in her favor and I don't want that. Also, I worry that Night King being at KL already means we won't see much of Cersei, Mountain, or Qiburn much more.
Plus, even if the Night King suddenly develops a battle strategy further than 'Dominate everything in my path', he has no reason to assume he even CAN take KL without absorbing the Northern Armies first. He doesn't know about, say, the Golden Company.
If nearly a hundred thousand people and two dragons in a fortified position that have been training and readying themselves for days won't be able to stop him, what makes you think some two-bit mercenary company and a city ruled by a mad queen can?
Besides, the Night King is focused almost solely on the Three-Eyed Raven, so right now he's fixed on Winterfell.
The Golden Company are some of the best fighters in Essos. They're certainly the best mercs, if nothing else. They're the Diamond Dogs of Westeros
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youBut does the Night King know? Or care? Or... does he 'know' anything really? He's not really a 'he'. It's an unstoppable force. An act of nature. A curse. I don't see the Night King just skipping over Winterfel when he can just bolster his army more and move south in a full line.
Does the Golden Company have dragonglass or Valyrian steel? If not, the only thing they are to our blue boi is recruits.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyGiven there will be only 3 episodes left, I don't think we're going to see much of a battle with the Golden Company.
In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Euron pulls a action from A Feast for Crows where he steals Cersei's fleet and leaves her without one.
Hence leading to the Cersei trying to burn them all.
Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters. If he did that, OH BOY, would having Cersei sleep with him be the wrong move. Having her scorn him (like the actress wanted) would have given him better motivation and context for a betrayal.
Wait, King's Landing has an anti-dragon ballista, and they know about the dragonglass weakness, AND it has been featured in the opening.
A dragon is getting pierced.
Daenerys outright states that she's aware of what her father was - so it's not so much "was the killing of my father justified?", but "can I trust you not to do the same to me?"
Welcome to Estalia, gentlemen.
