No 40K thread yet? I'm surprised. Nay, shocked, shocked I say to discover there's gambling going on in this establishment...
I'm eagerly anticipating the imminent 5th Edition release, personally, but I was interested to know if anyone here plays and has a differing opinion on it. There are certainly plenty of people out there who seem to think that 40K 4th edition "only just" came out and that a new edition isn't needed. Anyone?
Warhammer Fantasy (including Age of Sigmar and WFRP) has its own thread here.

The Ignored Epiphany thing does describe Kharn of all people though.
Disgusted, but not surprisedThe Thousand Sons were also kind of forced into it, due to Horus screwing with Leman Russ's orders to bring Magnus to Terra.
Having said that, Magnus was probably corrupted by Tzeentch a long time before the Emperor found him on Prospero, so their fall was probably inevitable.
Kinda, Magnus made a deal with Tzeetch to stop the flesh change in the battle fof prospero, he pull the plug and many sorcers become bloated chaos spawns
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"This is Tzeentch we are talking about. He probably set things in motion to force Magnus to make the deal centuries before the Emperor even thought about creating him.

Even if he didn't he'd definitely claim he did.
Disgusted, but not surprisedFor what I get, Tzeetch actually expect that Magnus and Russ wiped out each other and thus, erasing all is problem right away but he change plans midway.
But knowing tzeetch, he probably have hundred of plans that contradict each other because he like to play super 4D chess against itself.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Really? I seem to remember at least one version of the story I read (possibly from an .Index Astertes) that almost explicitally stated that when Magnus reached out to Tzeentch, it was exactly what the Architect of Fate had been waiting for
I think that is from the novels, there was aparently other idea of the chaos gods like making Magnus the arch betrayer or turing Sanguinius.
It show the heresy wasnt a complete step by step plan and that the chaos gods were working with it.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"Found the piece I was thinking of and I was misremembering slightly:
I don't know how this fits with the more recent novels however.
Regimental Standard showing in the grim darkness of the far future, shield formations don't go out of style. Just actually using shields for them does.
What do you mean? There are plenty of shields in that diagram! They're just made of meat!
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
Tired: Da Red Gobbo.
Wired: Leon Grotsky.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Gonna start a Rogue Trader campaign soon.
Can't decide between a grandfatherly missionary that switches between "would you like some tea and biscuits" in normal situations, and switching to "PURGE! CLEANSE! BURN!" when the mere mention of smiting enemies of Mankind comes up, or one who remains calm and grandfatherly even when burning mutants to death and chainsawing their limbs off.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."Have you considered: one who is worryingly intense during social situations and amazingly mellow during combat ones?
Basically one who is constantly stressed and panicking over stuff like their recaff break's refreshments being just right but maintains a cool and calm head when facing Chaos Marines?
"A band of World Eaters led by Kharn are on their way here? That's nothing. My cup of recaff was somehow served cold this morning. Cold. Recaff."

Disgusted, but not surprisedEh, some of the books for each of the Traitor Legions have shown that they at least partially realize they were wrong.
Is more they dont like working for chaos, even Iskador Khyon said that chaos isnt a better boss than the emperor.
"My Name is Bolt, Bolt Crank and I dont care if you believe or not"So, ~Cosmic Cynic 64 pulled all the named characters from their legion folders on Characters.Warhammer 40000 Chaos Marines and moved them to the bottom of the page. I don't remember seeing any discussion about this and I'm not certain it's needed. Thoughts?
While it does make it closer to the other character pages, the others don't have quite as many sub-factions to deal with so it makes the page look a bit repetitious. I am also, as I have said before, against large changes to layout without discussion in general.
Just breezed through Belisarius Cawl: The Great Work, and I have to say Cawl is wonderful in it. I know that it's due to him using this "funny, enthusiastic, and snarky" personality engrams this time, but it just makes him so engaging as a result. Lots of reveals and interesting bits on info as well, though him ending up glowing Necron Green thanks to all those stuff done to him by the C'Tan shard will probably raise eyebrows.
Hee. The Simpsons reference core online:
Cawl: I bring you peace.
Guilliman: Foul xenos! Kill it! Kill it!
Greyfax: Wait! Stop! It's Archmagos Cawl!
Guilliman: Oooooooh, it's Archmagos Cawl. [beat] Kill it! Kill it!
Getting back to Cosmic Cinic 64, as well as unilaterally changing the layout page, today he added Big Bad to Abaddon's example despite the fact that, to quote the last two times the trope was deleted "Warhammer has a Big Bad Ensemble and the trope was decided to be moved to the main page as opposed to being on the character ones." I have therefor deleted it again but would a hidden note explaining this be appropriate?

Probably, yeah, but honestly, a lot of stuff on this wiki seems to be altered at random intervals and with no warning (I've gotten a few different PM's about breaking editing rules that had been added since I last read them and nobody had told me about, and/or were confusingly worded and which nobody seems to follow anyway), so I have no idea what the etiquette is.
Reveals from the Blood & Glory Event this weekend
Psychic Awakening book 2◊ with rules for these armies◊.
Sororitas Vehicles: Exorcist◊ (cool); Immolator◊ (not so sure)
Chaos Sorcerer◊ (nice mix of old and new style)
New Mephiston (probably Primaris)

Not surprising both of them are pretty much on the oposite spectrum of chaos workship: the night lord are pragmatist who just used caos as weapon while the world beares does anything of workship.
