And we're back to Team Evil, as expected! Not expected: a heartwarming conversation between the MitD and Xykon, plus more of Rich teasing us about the former's identity.

hmm, I'm wondering if this means Mit D has gone up in age category or something? Kids are always hungry, growns ups less so.

What gets me is being reminded of how casual Xykon is about killing people. He even admits that he would have forgotten to do it since it didn't mean that much to him.

This is why Roy argued against the idea that any good solution to the Snarl problem would involve giving Xykon what he wants. He's a bored villain who gets his jollies from two things: murder and drinking coffee. And he cannot drink coffee anymore due to being a lich.

I was taking it more as something about his change in alignment process was affecting him.

This is my reading, although he doesn't seem to have changed size.

Exactly. Every time we start to think that maybe Xykon has some redeeming qualities because he's funny, Rich reminds us that he is a remorseless sociopath who murders people out of boredom.

Given Xykon, it could be anything from expressing casual annoyance at Redcloak's caution and general obstruction of Xykon's jollies to that he's decided that Righteye is a liability to be "kicked out" of the party through murder.

And it's probably just because Xykon thinks kicking him in the ass would be funny. After all, he's not just a remorselessly evil murderer, he's also a jerk.

I'm pretty sure he was drawing Redcloak. I saw the goblin had a holy symbol.

Yeah it's not quite accurate to say that Xykon's only interest is murder. He also enjoys non-lethal acts of cruelty.

You know, Xykon is a pretty good artist. He drew them both pretty much exactly as they are.

He's definitely better than that facial composite artist.

Exactly as they were before the Art Evolution, anyway.

How many spell slots did Xykon just burn on Disintegrate (which I didn't know he had?)? Maybe it's time for an ambush!

I think that was Scorching Ray. It was not Green Like Disintegrate.

Heh. I forgot that Xykon was an example of Evil Old Folks before he was killed. Dude is so youthful and vivacious.

Some kind of physical metamorphosis is what I figured the Monster was going through.

I like Xykon's remark about eating dwarves, though. Xykon thought he read somewhere that the Monster eats dwarves, but the Monster doesn't think so. That's the kind of vague hinting that can frustratingly go either way.

1. Xykon read correctly, but the Monster is ignorant of his own heritage.
2. The Monster's right, that's not a thing, and Xykon was misremembering something else.

Both of these are entirely plausible, so this "hint" actually conveys absolutely no information whatsoever. Bravo, Rich.
