It's a gamble whether or not you will become a Jager instead of dying. But is there any downside to actually being a Jager?
Disgusted, but not surprisedOther than a quite likely monstrous appearance, and general mistrust from normal people, then yeah, winning the 'super power or death' lottery has few downsides.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Remarkable dynamics between the two in the last panel. Priorities—and drinks.
Jaggerism seems to come with IQ loss, though. At least for the first 500 years or so.
I just ran the Sorting Algorithm of Deadness for Violetta and it gave me about 2.1. Which means "Be Back Soon".
Of course, there's the question of whether or not a Spark can be changed by the jaegerdrought. We already know regular slaver wasps don't work on them, though becoming a jaeger affects more than just their mind (which is presumably why slaver wasps can't take hold, because Spark heads are wired differently).
All your safe space are belong to TrumpWell, Tarvek has just really cemented his worthiness to have around to another General.
Because that sounded like more than a single round at the pub being offered.
Tarvek just made me want to cry. 😢 Poor guy.
And I think Tarvek on a Roaring Rampage of Revenge would be the scariest Spark alive.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettReally! If we thought Agatha and the organ were bad, Tarvek and a hat pin on a tear would make you want to emigrate to . . . almost anywhere else.

Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Man, Tarvek's gotta run out of room in his Fridge eventually.
If you followed Othar's Twitter (back when that was a thing), you know that there was a version of history where everyone was in Tarvek's fridge.
Oh, so he does have the room then.
Really, do you expect a Spark in full blown Madboy mode is going to let little petty details like Euclidean geometry stop him?
All your safe space are belong to TrumpEspecially since part of a Spark's schtick is they make 3 pi?
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettConsidering that Tarvek singlehandedly saved the anti-wasp weasel squad, he doesnt give himself enough credit.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."And that drink Higgins is offering . . . just what's in it?
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!If it's at Mama Gkikka's bar...
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettThat could be as dangerous as the jaegerdraught!
If it moves, eat it. If it doesn't move, kick it—then eat it!Except not to someone with Tarvek's training and background. He knows all the poisons, even the nonfatal ones. You want to underhandedly give Tarvek a dangerous drink? Stick to alcohol.
"We learn from history that we do not learn from history."I wonder what his reaction to Agatha-brewed coffee would be. 😇

Things are starting to look a little sketchy...

A high probability that you'll die instead of getting any of those things.
