Hadn't really noticed, but with Loup we have a straight-out villain we hadn't really gotten before, don't we?
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.We had Diego, but he's been dead for years. Also the shrimp doll, but she's one-shot.

Spiral out, keep going. If Annie's punches weren't met with No-Sell by Loup, I'd have said he's a masochist.
He does have a point, though. Annie's quite the troublemaker.

Spiral out, keep going.I choose to believe you mean the typo.
Huh. Just noticed that. Well, Tom's known to fix them quickly enough.
Spiral out, keep going.Loup is going to turn Annie's statement around and start talking about the Court's ether experiments; the ones that affected Zimmy and Jack so strongly.
Annie really needs some lithium for those mood swings...
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Am I the only one who thinks this is starting to drag? I get that there's a lot Tom wanted to explain, but maybe having two characters talk on and on about it for over a month wasn't the best way to do it.
Still moving faster than Paranatural, and I say that as someone who loves Paranatural.
Huh. That... makes sense.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise.Yeah, it's interesting to see Loup kind of dominating this argument.
Re: The blurb.
Quality over quantity.
Note that Ys himself isn't on the list
Spiral out, keep going.Everybody:
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaw!
Well yes, he clearly had a solid chunk of self-loathing.

And that's probably why Loup — a fusion of Ysengrin and Coyote — has such a low opinion of Ysengrin. He's a combination of Coyote's disdain for Ysengrin and Ysengrin's own self-loathing. No wonder he dunks on Ysengrin all the time.
Disgusted, but not surprisedDoes Annie somewhat seem to have the rose-tinted glasses on when it comes to Ysengrin? Or is there a big chunk of character development we're missing out on? He's chilled out some, for sure, but then his starting point was homicidal and likely to snap at the drop of a hat, so that's not really saying much.
Annie's general attitude towards Ys is eerily and uncomfortably similar to that of people stuck in abusive relationships. They use the same classic phrases, only it's a bit more clear in the latter's case that they are just excuses. In Ysengrin and Annie's case, not so much, but it's still ambiguous.
It's clear that Ys loves Annie, and doesn't wan't to get her hurt. He's probably had the most positive influence on her personality out of all of her father-figures and other mentors. He's also insane and violent - not the best person to have around even if he likes you.

Spiral out, keep going. It's not that different from how Annie makes excuses for her actual dad. Tony's emotionally distant (when he isn't completely absent) rather than outright abusive, but Annie's got a definite history of unrealistic optimism towards dysfunctional father figures.
Well, Ys's and Tony's parenting methods even align in two points: Annie shouldn't cheat and use makeup.

Spiral out, keep going.
She probably isn't but it would be interesting if she was holding Coyote's tooth when she did that.
