Wow.
I don't take Luffy seriously, but for me that one is hard to ignore.
Also, he rocks the Rubber Man power, which was never really taken seriously until he got his hands on it.

One Strip! One Strip!Go... me? XD
What? :P
Funny, I feel the exact same way with Naruto and Sasuke! :D
This board needs better smileys
Time to leave them all behind
Sorry. I keep assuming One Piece is the most popular of the big three, so I assuming Luffy is better liked than Naruto or Ichigo, so it's weird to see someone post something saying otherwise.

One Strip! One Strip!@Rob
I dislike Luffy and like Naruto the most out of those three. Ichigo earns my respect by not being a complete moron. Well, not most of the time anyway. XD
In Japan, absolutely, yes. In America, it's Naruto. We had this conversation in the OP thread a while back and it seems to vary between the two for most countries in the world.
e: Ichigo is probably the least dumb, on the average, of the three.

One Piece blog Beyond the LampshadeIf only Ichi-kun could learn to not be so bland...and learn more attacks.
Time to leave them all behindOh, please. Naruto and Luffy are just as bland. XD
Along with about 80 % of all Shonen heroes ever. xD

Whatever their faults, "Bland" is not one that I can honestly cite in either Naruto or Luffy.
"The marvel is not that the Bear posts well, but that the Bear posts at all."Their life is pretty much about like... four things. :3
Naruto: "HOKAGE"; "FOOD"; " MY FRIENDS SASUKE"; "SAVIOR"
Luffy: "PIRATE KING"; "FOOD"; "NAKAMA"; " BEING EGREGIOUSLY STUPID MORE FOOD"
I dunno. I find either of them pretty bland.

Eh, I consider Naruto pretty damn bland. Can't speak for Luffy.
Really, like I said before, Yusuke Urameshi and Kenshin Himura are the only non-bland shounen protaganists (at least, from the shounen I've read/watched). Gamma is pretty cool too, nothing too special though.
Time to leave them all behindYu Yu Hakusho? Might be the case.
I stopped watching after getting nearly bored to death. xD
This better has Tobi in his Obito form. :3
I don't find Ichigo, Yusuke, or Luffy bland. Naruto... sometimes.
*sigh*
Girl ain't right I tell ya what.
Seriously though, you can sit through the extremely slow Naruto yet get bored with Hakusho? I know, differing opinions and all, but I respectfully have to disagree.

Time to leave them all behindDifferent opinions and tastes, I know! Gasp! They are truly a sight to behold. XDD
Fist Of The North Star bored me almost as much! :3

Yu Yu Hakusho did get weird at end
One of these days, I'll do an essay on my problems with Naruto and most modern-day shounen, and why I've come to prefer older shounen titles for the most part. But not today.
Togashi apparently wanted to end it on Chapter Black, but SJ forced him to extend the series, which is why the last arc seemed so half-assed.

Time to leave them all behindAn essay on nostalgia? Sounds interesting!
I think the only older anime I like are Dragon Ball and Sailor Moon. And Neon Genesis Evangelion, if it counts.
@CFK: What about titles like Toriko, that are throwbacks to older shonen?
One Piece blog Beyond the LampshadeTried reading Toriko. Got booooooooooooored too, so I dropped it. XD
@Autumn: Haven't checked it out, but I may try it somewhere along the line.
@Saiga: Not really nostalgia (keep in mind that I grew up in the 90's/00's, so Naruto and Bleach are just as nostalgic to me as DBZ and YYH) so much as I find that they're just genuinely good stories. I'm not completely a nostalgiafag, since I've enjoyed what I've read of Negima and Psyren.
