  • Angst? What Angst?: In Chapter 4, while all the cast tends to rather underreact into being polymorphed into something reflective of their worst fears, Torn in particular doesn't seem bothered at all by having been turned into a kobold. Despite supposedly fearing being small and weak, the only time where it really seems to bother him is when it results in a female kobold mook hitting on him.
  • Bizarro Episode: Chapter 9 features an extended Pokémon battle between Torn, Princess Marnia, and two of the Adeptus Custodes, which lasts for over 30 comics. It has minimal plot relevance and ultimately turns out to be nothing but a hallucination of some kind by Major Powers.
  • Continuity Lockout: Due to both the complicated and continuity-heavy structure of the plot, and how silly it is, it's very hard for new readers to get into the comic except by reading the entire archive from the beginning.
  • Fan Nickname:
    • An unnamed character first introduced in Chapter 11, after going a long time without any sort of name for the fans to identify them by, was eventually dubbed "Vinny" after their (according to Word of God coincidental) resemblance to a Vindicare Assassin from Warhammer 40,000. Ironically, the character's actual name was revealed soon after the Vinny name caught on.
    • Some fans have referred to Sereyentheous in Rand's body as "Randsereyentheous".
    • The trio of idiotic Hyptians introduced in Chapter 13 - Professors Ascelos, Iamphisi, and Vith - have been nicknamed the "Three Stooges".
  • Growing the Beard: The comic has improved quite a lot when compared to the first few storylines, which were at best rather mediocre. Particular upswings in quality came during Chapters 3 and 4 - which marked the development of much of the comic's modern feel, the introduction of several major story elements, and characterizations becoming somewhat more fixed - and the beginning of Chapter 10, which saw a significant art upgrade and tighter writing.
