• Anticlimax Boss: Cao Cao, the Final Boss, has only a single, short health bar (compared to previous bosses whose life meters extends from one end of the screen to another) and his sole attack consists of occasionally dropping bombs while trying to flee from you. But then again he's a Time-Limit Boss - you're supposed to kill him within 15 seconds before he escapes, fail to do so he'll return with an even larger army and conquer the entirety of China, leading to a Bad Ending.
• Surprisingly Improved Sequel: While Dynasty Wars has its fans, Warriors is easily the more fondly-remembered and beloved of the two, to the point where it turns up as one of the seven "classics" in Capcom's Beat 'em Up bundle re-released in 2018.
