• Alternative Character Interpretation: Based on Optimus still being able to overpower Ratchet, it's likely that part of why he ordered him to return to the base is because he knew Ratchet would still be no match for Megatron. In essence he was trying to make sure Ratchet didn't run to his death.
• Harsher in Hindsight: Optimus doesn't deny anything Ratchet says in his "The Reason You Suck" Speech, implying he admits Ratchet has a point. In the following episode he even admits showing mercy to Megatron is a mistake.
  • The SynthEn turns out to be even more impractical than this episode implied in "Thirst" when Knockout states that in his tests that the more of the SynthEn he used on a subject the faster it burned through it.
• Jerkass Woobie: Ratchet might've turned insufferable with the power going beyond his head, but it very clearly stemmed from feeling inadequate and wanting to do more.
