YMMV / Tracy Lawrence

  • Covered Up:
    • "Somebody Paints the Wall" was originally released by Josh Logan in 1989.
    • In a bizarre zig-zagging, he and Ken Mellons both released "Paint Me a Birmingham" at the same time, but Mellons' version fell off the charts in a week and Lawrence's version went on to be the bigger hit.
    • "Used to the Pain" was originally a single for Mark Nesler in 1998.
  • Eclipsed by the Remix: "Find Out Who Your Friends Are" started out as a solo release, but got remixed into the far better known collaborative version with Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney. Due to their name recognition, virtually all recurrent airplay is of the remixed version.
  • Tear Jerker: "If I Don't Make It Back" is about a soldier making plans for what his buddies should do if he doesn't return from combat. He doesn't come back.
