• Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: The fanfic's interpretation of Beardo and Rodney have made them far more likable than their canon counterparts. Rather than each of them being defined by a single joke each, the two have learned from their mistakes and genuinely attempt to make friends with the other contestants. It also helps that they actually make contributions to the story (Rodney acting as a brief Spanner in the Works towards Noah, and Beardo's Odd Friendship with Duncan resulting in Sammy's elimination).
