- Face of the Band: Tina Weymouth. The band was formed because Weymouth and Chris Frantz had gotten tired of David Byrne being the face of Talking Heads.
- First Installment Wins: Their debut album is the only one to be generally praised by critics, and while their later work does have its fans, even they will say that their first album was where they were at their strongest.
- Never Live It Down: The band's role in producing the disastrous Happy Mondays album Yes Please! has chased them around since the album came out, largely because their role as producers is believed to be one of the main reasons why the album was so disliked, changing Happy Mondays' signature Madchester sound out for dated Caribbean-influenced synthpop (which, incidentally enough, would've been a better fit for Tom Tom Club themselves).
