YMMV / Thor: Tales of Asgard

Go To

  • Alternative Character Interpretation: Odin, as usual. Was he really a heartless monster for not coming to help the Dark Elves when they first appealed to him, or was he genuinely trying to avoid escalating a war that may not have been his responsibility to deal with in the first place?
    • Also Thrym—fittingly, since he and Odin are Foils. He spends most of the movie seeming like a Reasonable Authority Figure, but how does that gel with genociding the Dark Elves? (Algrim specifically namedrops him, so we can't write it off as another Jotun's doing.) Did he have some reason to go to war with them, or is he more evil than he seems, but pragmatic enough to avoid conflict with the stronger Asgardians?
  • The Woobie: Loki, at the end. The stricken look on his face and his tears after he murders Algrim just makes you want to hug him. Luckily, Thor does it for you.
