YMMV / The Twelve

Go To

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot:
    • The idea of taking twelve Golden Age heroes and bringing them to the present like with Captain America is a good idea, especially since the goal was to show how differently they all adapt to the present while showing them to be more flawed than Captain America. However of the twelve only one hero actually struggles with Deliberate Values Dissonance and accepting the social changes in the 21st century to the point he becomes a villain while the rest suffer from other problems and more or less accept the changes in society, while another is just a mindless robot. Also since they all live together there is very little focus on them trying to experience the 21st century and interacting with modern characters.
    • Changing Dynamic Man's origin to more easily make him the villain is much less interesting than a 20th century hero coming to the realisation that the future he fought for isn't the future he's in now. He was actually more interesting before The Reveal where he admits to Captain Wonder that he's trying to keep himself distracted from how out of place he feels in the 21st century by throwing himself into heroics.
