YMMV / The Sandman: Overture

  • Alternate Character Interpretation: When Morpheus recalls Alianora and how he stopped loving her, the Dream of Cats mentions that "[they] were cruel." Was that simply Desire still impersonating Dream's form and telling him what he'd expect, or was it a remark on their own hand in sending Alianora to Dream and ultimately leading to her unhappiness? If it is the latter, is Desire just being matter-of-fact or do they feel a twinge of regret for what they've done?
  • Awesome Art: The surreal artwork by J. H. Williams III is nothing short of masterful, with intricate, imaginative details, subtle clues littered throughout the pages, and even the frames that are often tied into the storytelling itself.
