- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Malhaut's cat'o'ninetails. After seeing Gallia and Pallida hating on each other, he walked in, gave it to them, and walked right back out again. Gallia and Malhaut later agree never to speak of it again.

- On the one hand, Gallia is an asshole. On the other hand, most of her life was spent in abusive servitude.
- Dianth is just a coward with too much power, and who is terrified beyond his wits without being able to do anything about it. He just wants to sleep peacefully for once.
