YMMV / The Powerpuff Girls (S3E5): "Getting Twiggy with It"/"Cop Out"

Go To

  • Accidental Aesop: Be careful who you trust to take care of an animal.
  • Karmic Overkill: While Mitch's treatment of Twiggy was undeniably cruel and he did need to be punished in some way for it, some fans felt that the punishment he ended up getting was too extreme. Instead of getting a more basic punishment like not being allowed to look after any more animals until he can be trusted, he gets put in a giant hamster wheel and has to run inside it for God-knows-how-long with the mutated Twiggy right behind him all the way. Even if Mitch is a troublesome child, he's still a kindergarten-aged child who needs to be punished in a way any normal kid his age would be and learn from his mistakes, so what he gets in the episode, along with the girls threatening to straight-up let Twiggy eat him alive earlier on, ultimately ends up feeling very disproportionate.
  • Never Live It Down: Despite the fact that Mitch, for all his tendencies to be a bully has been shown to be a good kid when in the right mood, a lot of fans haven't forgiven him for abusing Twiggy throughout the episode to the point where some fans (as an opposition to Karmic Overkill) rooted for the girls to let Twiggy eat him after he caused her to become a mutant.
