• Alternative Character Interpretation:
  • Did Awesome Man really love Speed? Or was it a lie to get her guard down and terminate her under Knight Hawk's orders?
  • Halfway through the season repeated use of Cortex appears to give Knight Hawk brain damage, and even kills him, but he is then immediately revived by Cortex. How much this affects his thinking afterwards is an open question.
• Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: The reveal that Knight Hawk and Marvelous Man were in a gay relationship, ended it due to societal pressure from prevailing homophobic attitudes, and then erased Knight Hawk's memory of it. Bafflingly even Knight Hawk does not react in any way to this revelation nor does he consider if it might factor into Marvelous Man's death. The entire sequence could simply be deleted from the episode and it would change nothing.
• Harsher in Hindsight: After the reveal that Awesome Man is actually a child with a Super-Powered Alter Ego, his relationship with The Speed seems a lot more disturbing on rewatches.
