• Narm: The speeder chase through the streets of Mos Espa tries to be a thrilling climax, but the brightly color-coded bikes of the cyborgs, the fact they look more like vespa scooters than motorcycles, and the slow pace of the sequence ^note Given they're moving through an urban sprawl, going fast would be counter-productive. In fact, the mayor's assistant repeatedly causes property damage by doing just that, compared to the mod squad resulted in mockery from some fans.
• One-Scene Wonder: The Rancor Trainer made the rounds immediately after the episode aired due to being played by the legendary Danny Trejo.
• Special Effects Failure: The speeder chase has been criticized for looking too slow, even beyond the fact that they're doing so in a crowded urban environment (where going fast isn't feasible). Vehicles that don't interact with solid ground are known to be difficult to film in an interesting way, but this comes after "The Tribes of Tatooine" and Solo both had better luck pulling off similar chases.
