YMMV / The Bayeux Tapestry

Go To

  • Memetic Mutation:
    • It's become popular on the internet to take cutout figures from the Tapestry and rearrange them into medieval-style memes, writing the sayings in archaic English. (e.g., "Behold the field in which I grow mine fucks, look upon it and see that it is barren.") Someone even made a tool on github for the purpose.
    • The same with archaic French. During the COVID-19 Pandemic, there was one called "La Geste Covid", parodying the (poor) handling of the epidemic with old French or pseudo-old French dialogue over the tapestry's segments and fictional segments added in it.
