• Magnificent Bastard:
  • Jean Schroeder, who has been spouting anti-Nidu rhetoric all his life, with his father Anton Schroeder doing the same. In fact, Anton has made a deal with the Nidu ambassador Naj-win-Getag to work towards the goal of putting the win-Getag clan in power. As part of that, the Nidu would declare war on Earth and conquer it, installing Schroeder as their regent before leaving. After the deaths of Anton and Naj, their sons Jean Schroeder and Narf-win-Getag continue the plan.
  • Narf-win-Getag's master stroke is a carefully-orchestrated plan to overthrow the auf-Getag clan and also threaten Earth without even giving humans a chance to defend themselves, involving bribing the captains of six of the eight Glar-class destroyers and getting them to obliterate the other two with surprise volleys.
