YMMV / TaleSpin (Sega)

  • Goddamned Bats:
    • The seagulls are present in many levels. They attack Baloo and Kit by swooping down at them and are often difficult to hit because of the game's terrible hit detection.
    • The rats are present in New York and San Francisco. They travel in packs and can easily drain the player of health. Because of how low to the ground they are and the game's terrible hit detection in general, they are difficult to kill, and when one does die, another one spawns in its place.
  • That One Level: India, the sixth action stage, is set in a temple where it's easy to lose track of where you are, especially since standing on the switches changes the layout of the temple.
  • The Problem with Licensed Games: Disney video games usually have a good reputation, and the Sega Genesis is home to some of the most memorable. Unfortunately, TaleSpin isn't one of them. While the game has a nice soundtrack and is at least playable compared to Fantasia, it unfortunately suffers from murky, unappealing graphics, boring level design, terrible hit detection, enemies that are hard to kill but can easily attack the player, uninspired and recycled boss fights, cargo to collect each stage, a seven-day time limit, and an unsatisfying ending.
