• Alternative Character Interpretation: When Principal Victoria sent Mr. Garrison to the tolerance camp, was she doing it because she genuinely believed he was being "intolerant of [his] own behavior", or because she figured it would be a fitting punishment for his attempt to file a Frivolous Lawsuit?
• Fridge Horror: Yup, Jewish mother Sheila Broflovski sent her Jewish son Kyle Broflovski to a death camp without a hint of irony.
• Harsher in Hindsight:
  • Principal Victoria being careful not to fire Mr. Garrison for political correctness reasons becomes this after she gets fired in season 19 for not punishing a student for making a politically incorrect joke.
  • The concept that someone would accept perverted and degenerate behavior around minors under the threat of being called homophobic became this after Drake Bell's father revealed on "Quiet on Set" that he was suspicious about Brian Peck's behavior towards his son but was silenced because he was told Brian Peck is gay and questioning his behavior was homophobia. This took place around the time this episode aired nonetheless.
• Values Dissonance: The episode suggests that being too tolerant of homosexuality could lead to a gay teacher getting away with perverted behavior in the classroom; those who express discomfort with this are wrongly accused of bigotry. This hasn't aged well nowadays given the rise in homophobia on the far-right, which has promoted harassment of gay teachers in particular by stereotyping them as behaving the way Garrison does. Combined with Garrison’s speech saying that tolerating gay people doesn’t mean you have to accept them, the episode can come off today as an apology for homophobia.
