YMMV / Something/Anything?

  • Covered Up: Rundgren did this to himself here with his cover of Nazz' "Hello It's Me". While the original recording was a minor hit at the time (in fact, it made the Billboard Hot 100 twice, peaking at #71 in early 1969, then #66 a year later), today hardly anyone even remembers it existed. The version on this album, on the other hand, is arguably Rundgren's best known song, and was certainly his most successful single in the United States.
  • Harsher in Hindsight: "You Left Me Sore". At the time the song was written, getting an STI was embarrassing but not exactly life-threatening. The HIV scare changed that.
  • Suspiciously Similar Song: The Latin-style section of "Breathless" sounds a lot like "Treat Street" by Vince Guaraldi.
