YMMV / Skylanders: SWAP Force

Go To

  • Best Boss Ever:
    • Evil Glumshanks, who is a simple Bullfight Boss. What's particularly interesting in this one is that if you're playing as Stink Bomb or Stealth Elf (who have stealth mechanics) you can keep him from tracking you because he can't see you.
    • Mesmerelda, somewhat of a successor to the Drillbot from Giants. She begins the stage with a song, and then proceeds to give you a nice gimmicky battle where you have to deal with her webs. Most importantly? She's just plain fun.
    • Kaossandra. Despite that you never fight her directly and she is nothing more than a Flunky Boss, she manages to be quite an unusual boss fight in which you have to literally take the Skylander off the portal to lure her back into the game. It's seen as a useful tool of progression that paints the medium. What also helps is her opening cutscene wherein she flat out talks to the player and intends to go after you.
  • Broken Base: Are the longer levels to the game's benefit or detriment? Those who like it appreciate the levels having some more meat on their bones while those who dislike it think the levels end up overstaying their welcome.
  • The Scrappy: Rufus became very easily one of the most disliked characters in the series for anyone who has finished the game, as everytime you boot up the safe file with a finished game, you have to sit through unskippable dialogue where he first says "Welcome back to Woodburrow, hero of Cloudbreak Islands. What can I do for you?" and then mentioning a side mode for you to try out.
  • Squick: Nausea Fuel: The Final Boss fight against Super Evil Kaos is just plain gross. The first phase has you attacking the overgrown crystal growths on his toes, while the second phase has him attempting to eat you whole, at which point you have to attack the crystal plaque covering his teeth while standing atop his uncannily realistically-textured tongue.
