- Alternative Character Interpretation: Why did the adult dragon snatch Scales? The scene makes it look as though it was an act of cannibalistic predation and that appears to be what Sintel assumes it was, but it's just as likely the adult was Scales' parent coming to retrieve its lost offspring.
- Mis-blamed: Do not blame Sony for the film getting blocked on YouTube, you can blame YouTube's very inept ContentID system for that. Even though the Blender Foundation owned the film, it thought Sony owned the copyrights note and falsely claimed the video as Sony's material rather than Blender's.
- The Woobie: Scales's first seen has him abandoned as a baby dragon, with an injured wing. Then, after befriending Sintel, Scales is soon kidnapped. And if if couldn't get worse, he's accidentally killed by his best friend. Poor guy...
