• Jerkass Woobie: Alicia. Smug, arrogant, and condescending... but with Hidden Depths much like Emilio.
• Unintentionally Unsympathetic: Emilio spends most of the series acting possessive of Ryouma, holding his authority over him, and refusing to change him back to being male. That Ryouma falls for Emilio anyway, and especially comes to like the idea of being a girl, comes off as Stockholm Syndrome. Emilio eventually does give Ryouma the ability to change back. As he'd effectively browbeat her into loving him by that point, and she never even tries being male again, it rings rather hollow. With how suddenly Ryoma became more feminine and attracted to Emilio, the transformation itself looks like a form of brainwashing.
