- Narm: Every attempt to make Jessie's drug addiction comes off as laughable rather than tearjerking or dramatic, especially since - due to concerns that using more serious drugs would be objectionable to parents - the more serious amphetamines were replaced with... caffeine pills.
- Nightmare Fuel: Sure, it was just a caffeine pill addiction and they're not really that dangerous nor addictive, but what would've happened if Zack hadn't knocked on the door to check on Jessie? What if she had taken more of the pills? What if she never woke up? What would've happened if Zack hadn't stopped Jessie from singing with the girl group?
- The fact that the caffeine pills Jessie gets addicted to were originally going to be speed doesn't help either.
- Tear Jerker: Jessie breaking down into Zack's arms crying still is a little heartbreaking to watch, even if Narmy.
- Values Resonance: Surprisingly so, at least with the original version in which amphetamines were Jessie's drug of choice, as they're the base for methamphetamines.
