- Nintendo Hard: The NES version is extremely unforgiving. On top of that, the Konami Code didn't work for this title (mainly because it hadn't been introduced yet).
- Polished Port: The NES version added two levels, improved the gameplay, made levels longer and more challenging, added in a new soundtrack more varied and memorable compared to the arcade version's repetitive, faux-military snare drums and put in a definite final boss and ending rather than being an Endless Game.
