- Cult Classic: The movie was completely ignored by critics upon release but became a huge hit within a small but devoted fanbase. Until today the movie is praised as one of the greatest period pieces and schlock fests of the 80s.
- Sequelitis: The success of this movie spawned a number of sequels of decreasing quality. The third movie, The Roller Blade Seven, is where it's really noticeable in how plainly bad it gets.
- So Bad, It's Good: The movie has a high standing among several
badmovie pages all around the internet. Most of them agree that the cheap look, the incomprehensible plot line, the non existing acting, the weird settings, the strange language and the tons of 80s charm are all a great experience, although most of them see that it was at least to an extent intentionally bad.
