• Aluminum Christmas Trees: Prince John appointing Isabella as Nottingham's new sheriff is not as anachronistic as it seems. The real Prince John (who was king at the time) did make a woman — Nicola de la Haie — Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1216.
• Anti-Climax Boss: This is a bit of a disappointing conclusion to Prince John's three-episode arc. Far from the self-absorbed but cunning narcissist we saw at his introduction, he spends most of this episode flailing helplessly before being run out of Nottingham with his tail between his legs.
• Retroactive Recognition: Sheridan is played by Robert Pugh, a character actor now most recognizable to genre fans as Craster from Game of Thrones.
• Special Effects Failure: The CGI scorpions guarding the crown aren't rendered particularly convincingly.
