YMMV / Review with Myles Barlow

Go To

  • Crosses the Line Twice: There's murder, arson, ephebophilia, a broken marriage and a false rape accusation. All manage to be just as funny as they are horrifying.
  • Moral Event Horizon: Myles crossed this when he committed murder. He got through the killing part okay enough, but struggled to dispose of the body without attracting a few witnesses. The segment ends with him filling in the last of three unmarked graves.
  • Retroactive Recognition: Margot Robbie is one of the schoolgirls in the "Dickheads" segment.
  • Squick:
    • The episode in which Myles reviews intergenerational relationships. If seeing him make out with a 17-year-old girl didn't give you a case of the squicks, seeing him lying in bed half-naked with her grandmother certainly will.
  • Values Dissonance: In Australia 17 is considered a consenting age, though a 17-year-old dating a man twice her age is still frowned upon.
  • The Woobie: Myles' ex-wife Catherine could use a break. Her husband says he wants a divorce and brags about sleeping with the work-experience girl, which takes a full year to finalise. Then when Catherine starts seeing someone else, Myles successfully frames her partner for paedophilia so he can attempt to win her back for his "reconciling" review.
