• Adorkable: John, almost undeniably so. His dynamic with Hailey, whom he absolutely adores by the end and treats with nothing less than complete and utter respect is utterly darling, and his reaction when she initiates a relationship with him, despite his belief that his personality, age, and severe mental illness would make any real interest on her end a complete non-factor, is enough to make you want to bawl.
• Diagnosed by the Audience: John Weir is almost obsessed with various forms of routine and planning, stims and rocks in order to self-soothe, has a near-photographic memory, and seems to have had to teach himself how to interact with other people in the way he's "supposed" to. He also definitively has unresolved trauma relating to his father's faked death as a child, still having nightmares and flashbacks to it on a regular basis nearly forty years afterwards, and even outright states at the beginning of the series that he has issues "getting out of his head" without outside help, later revealed to specifically involve bouts of severe paranoia, hallucinations, and various delusions.
• Just Here for Godzilla: More than one person almost certainly watched the series just to see Kiefer Sutherland back in action yet again as an extremely badass spy.
