- Base-Breaking Character: Binair is either an annoying asshole for giving Chimera no fair chance to win their game of croquet as a way to teach him about the way the Pokémon world works, or a shining example of how to be a good leader to your subordinates, something Chimera so desperately needs after all the crap he dealt with from his employers in the human world.
- Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: When Argon gives him a Heal Seed to cure his blindness, Chimera decides to postpone eating it and to instead recite the story of Adam and Eve and the forbidden fruit.
- Crosses the Line Twice:
- Chimera's reaction to Basculin being eaten as food:
With no one to corroborate abnormality, Chimera shrugged; at least it wasn't people.- Chimera and Argon are in the tavern The Seedy Pecha and receive meals of stew containing Pallid meat. While Eoin is present.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: The concept of Pallids is borrowed from honrupi, who later drew a commission piece for Ambyssin, the author of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Guiding Light. What's more, both of these PMD fanfictions contain references to the other.
- Unexpected Character:
- You'd be hard-pressed to find another story with a Bagon protagonist, given that no official Pokémon game, Mystery Dungeon or otherwise, has had it as a starter option. Not only that, but Chimera's species is conducive to the plot in that he has natural Bagon instincts that give him a thrill from jumping off cliffs.
- Pallids previously only existed as a concept from the DeviantArt user honrupi.
