  • Anti-Climax Boss: Helmitor. Despite being a seasoned raider (Enough to have his own castle) and clearly being favored by the closest thing to a god in his introduction, he dies shortly after you meet him. He has all the hallmarks of becoming The Dragon but is quickly killed off.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: Helmitor turns out to be a bird moments before dying. He also loses his speech as soon as this is revealed.
  • Low-Tier Letdown: Sofia is this to some. Her default loadout has low damage, and the dodge lowering chance on her attack rarely has any noticeable effect, since even when it lands, it's low damage. The net she wields can also be considered this, since it only prevents someone from moving. This sounds rather impactful considering positioning is radical important, but in practice it's extremely niche, and it doesn't work on a great deal of enemies that would absolutely be great to use it on (Pixies, Electrobots, Cycloptopuses, and many other units that fly.)
  • That One Level: Or rather, Quest. Yosef has to infiltrate a facility to steal his other eye back. Instead of the normal team based tactical brawlfests you've been doing for pretty much the entire game, it becomes a Turn-based stealth puzzle with easily missable shortcuts, and ends in The Hall Of Despair. Interlocking lasers invalidate massive rows of space to end your turn in, cameras that stun you so that you get hit by said lasers. Halfway through the room, a Cyclops is released into the room, with many online guides saying you have to tank the hits it dishes out and and dash past him, all while praying to RN Gesus he doesn't knock you back and slow your movement. There's also more or less Permanently Missable Loot that requires careful planning to get or spend hours trying to find a random encounter on the map.
    • The Second to last mission in the madame megabat questline. Taking on three cyclopsi and 2 pixies is already unpleasant enough, but they are massively buffed compared to the standard units and you constantly take damage over time. The goal is to grab the sun sword, a massively powerful weapon... That causes the entire enemy team to completely ignore the rest of your party to all rush down the poor sap carrying the thing, and is too heavy for anyone to carry except a cyclops with nothing but bare minimum protection. It's entirely possible for you to wipe out the entire enemy team, but die because all your characters are too low health to reach the exit and drop the sword back at its spawn point.
