- Badass Decay: In most of the Orlando Innamorato, Oliver is lot more of a force to be reckoned with. Rinaldo seems to be filling his usual role here.
- Les Yay: The scene where Bradamante sleeps in the bed of a princess who mistakes her a man and falls in love with her. Also, maybe Bradamante/Marfisa.
- Sequel Displacement: It's actually a sequel to Orlando Innamorato ("enamored Orlando"), which is a straight Chivalric Romance poem but has never been finished because of the author's death. Orlando Furioso is much more known due to deconstructing all the tropes associated with its prequel, to the point many don't even know it's a sequel.
