• Ass Pull: Rumple defeats Wish Rumple by sacrificing himself, which somehow takes out his counterpart as well. Despite the fact that the primary versions of Cruella and Pan and the Wish versions of Snow, Charming and Belle all died without affecting their counterparts.
• Catharsis Factor: Emma refers to Hook as "your stepfather" to Henry. It had been some fans' pet peeve that their relation was never articulated directly onscreen before now.
• Fanfic Fuel: The reveal that Emma and Regina took Henry on a family road trip for his graduation has led to an influx of fanfics exploring that road trip, especially shippers. These fanfics often explore Emma and Regina having a summer romance despite Emma being married.
• One-Scene Wonder: The return of Emma Swan at the end and her reunion with the main cast is widely considered one of the best parts of the episode. Many have commented that Jennifer Morrison seems like she is having more fun with the character then she has had in years.
• Salvaged Story: The first hug between Emma and Regina in Season 6 was not well received by most fans, with many feeling that it was over too quickly and given very little importance by the episode, despite being a major steppingstone in the friendship between the two main leads. The fact that it was due to Regina finding out that Emma was engaged to Hook was also seen as cheapening what could have been a heartwarming moment. Their hug after reuniting in this episode was much better received, due to it feeling to many like a legit moment of friendship and being out of their joy at seeing each other again after years.
