YMMV / Moon Knight (2022) S1E6 "Gods and Monsters"

Go To

  • Adorkable: Taweret continues to be this: she not only kindly tells Layla that her father is in the Field of Reeds (a rough equivalent to Heaven), but gushes over ideas she has for Layla's avatar costume.
  • Alternate Character Interpretation:
    • In regards to Marc and Steven's bargain with Khonshu, and how they were aware that there might be a third alter, was the bargain they made also a way for them to also tap into the powers of Moon Knight if they wanted to? Steven's final words to Harrow before Marc wakes up is that "We'd rather go save the world." Does this mean that he and Marc still have a way to continue their heroics later on? Are they trying to hustle Khonshu sometime in the future (since, after all, they know that Layla can't be the new host if Taweret possessed her, and she saw Jake unleash the massacre and Layla is already in the know about what Khonshu had "planned" for her). Did Steven specifically say to let him and Marc go free to test whether or not Khonshu would keep his word or go against it?
    • We see that Jake kills some orderlies on his way to abduct Harrow. But, rather interestingly, he's rather nice to the nurse taking care of Harrow and takes him from her without any fuss. While at first this might seem to be out of practicality, Harrow's cult is established to be hiding in plain sight in some of the most unexpected places, and Jake might've killed those people not because they were in his way, but because they were cultists getting ready to break their master out on a moment's notice.
    • Did Jake take the job to be Moon Knight to protect Steve and Marc or cause he just loves enacting vengeance onto bad guys? Alters are created to protect and Jake has always come in to protect Marc and Steven from being hurt. Or is he only coming in so that he's protecting himself from death?
  • Captain Obvious Reveal: After numerous hints at a third alter (including Marc's blackout during the final battle in this very episode), it would have been more surprising if he didn't come up to work extreme violence in The Stinger. The Exact Words used by Khonshu are also a big red flag, given the audience was made aware of such an alter before.
