• Crazy Is Cool:
  • Milo is affectionately referred to as MHI's mad scientist, and his job is to come up with the gear the Hunters use. He's not exactly crazy per se, but Milo does view the world differently from most folks.
  • In the short story with Tanya; they admit that "crazy" is not a resume killer to be a Monster Hunter.
• Shocking Moments:
  • In Monster Hunter: Nemesis, when it is revealed the identity of who was interrogating Franks since the early chapters of the book and why. It is Archangel Michael and Franks was Dead All Along.
  • The back-cover blurb for Monster Hunter: Siege, to be released in 2017: "GO BIG OR GO HOME. • Spiritual Adaptation: For fans of Tremors, this series may be the best literary adaptation of its blend of Action Horror, Gun Porn, and wisecracking heroes, though unlike Tremors' Graboids (which are purely biological animals), the monsters here are explicitly supernatural.
  • Though the "worms" that are part of the nascent Old One under New Orleans is actually a fairly straight-line reference.
