- Captain Obvious Reveal: Mr. Komos being the movie's Big Bad. Even without all the foreshadowing pointing towards this conclusion, a number of fans pegged him as the main villain simply because he was the only brand-new character revealed in promotional material, making it obvious he'd have an important role of some kind.
- Critical Backlash: In response to the negative reception to the movie's changes, some fans ended up coming to its defense, pointing out that it's ridiculous to automatically assume that something will be bad just because they changed a few things. And after its release, people who ended up actually liking it (or at least found it inoffensive) wondered what all the fuss was about in the first place.
- Les Yay: Even though the movie implies that Clawdeen has a crush on Deuce, some of her scenes with Draculaura have romantic undertones.
- They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: Hoooo boy. Pretty much every change made for the movie (and thus G3 as a whole) seemed to tick off the fanbase, from the widespread Adaptation Personality Change to the new designs (with Lagoona and Deuce especially getting lambasted) to the changes to the setting's backstory.
- Watched It for the Representation: Some fans decided to watch the movie based solely on Frankie being nonbinary.
